Under the patronage of Professor Dr. Qusay Kamal al-Din al-Ahmadi, President of the University of Mosul, and under the supervision of Assistant Professor Dr. Wissam Nemat Ibrahim al-Saadi, Dean of the College of Law, the Women\u2019s Empowerment Committee in our college, in cooperation with the Human Rights Law Branch and the Women\u2019s Empowerment Unit at the Presidency of the University of Mosul, held the scientific workshop on Wednesday, November 29, 2023. (Women in Governorate Council Elections), whose sessions were moderated by Dr. Soha Hamid Salim, Chair of the Women\u2019s Empowerment Committee in our college, where Dr. Sahar Muhammad Naguib presented her research paper entitled The Legal Basis for Women\u2019s Participation in Governorate Council Elections, in which the constitutional basis for elections was addressed, especially since the Constitution is The supreme law of the state is what determines its form, bodies, institutions, and authorities, in addition to its guarantee of public rights and freedoms, including the right to vote, which is one of the political rights guaranteed constitutionally, as every Iraqi citizen has the right to participate in the elections without discrimination.
