Master’s thesis in the Human Rights Law Branch on Positive Discrimination in International Human Rights Law,,,<\/div>\n
On Wednesday, February 26, 2025, the Human Rights Law Branch at the College of Law at the University of Mosul discussed a master’s thesis on positive discrimination in international human rights law, attended by Assistant Professor Dr. Wissam Nemat Ibrahim Al-Saadi, Dean of the College, and a number of members of the College Council and its lecturers.<\/div>\n
The thesis submitted by the student Ahmed Jamal Jumaa in the Human Rights Law Branch dealt with equality and freedom, which human rights focus on and are described as two fixed values \u200b\u200bgranted to humans as part of the human group. Sometimes the need may arise to rely on the basis of justice to reach the essence of human rights, especially if the individual or group is unable to master human rights in their traditional description based on freedom and equality.<\/div>\n
The thesis aims to show that positive discrimination is a mechanism for achieving actual equality in the face of discrimination in its forbidden form based on race, color, gender, language, religion, political or non-political opinion, national or social origin, or wealth.<\/div>\n
