As part of the legal awareness and education efforts of the College of Law at the University of Mosul, the Rehabilitation, Employment, and Follow-up Unit at our college, in cooperation with the Human Rights Commission\/Nineveh Office, the Rehabilitation, Employment, and Follow-up Unit, and the Human Rights Division at the University of Mosul, held a qualification workshop for undergraduate students on Wednesday, May 7, 2025. The workshop addressed the role of the Human Rights Commission in monitoring human rights and its role in promoting humanitarian action. The workshop opened with a welcoming speech by representatives of the Human Rights Commission, followed by a discussion of the role of the Rehabilitation, Employment, and Follow-up Unit in educating students about the importance of humanitarian work and human rights monitoring, as well as the necessity of engaging in volunteer work in environments suffering from human rights violations, especially during armed conflicts and internal unrest. Dr. Nagham Luqman Muhammad from the Human Rights Commission Office also gave an introductory lecture on the Commission’s office, its founding mechanism, the most prominent programs it undertakes, and its contributions to serving human rights at the national and international levels. The lecture featured many valuable contributions that enriched the workshop’s topic, which was well-received. The students interacted and asked many questions and inquiries about the workshop topic, which were answered in detail. The above workshop represents the importance our college attaches to the need to educate and introduce human rights programs, openness to government departments, and the importance of spreading the culture of human rights at the local and international levels.\"\"\"\"<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
