{"id":47911,"date":"2026-04-08T18:45:37","date_gmt":"2026-04-08T18:45:37","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/uomosul.edu.iq\/en\/rights\/?p=47911"},"modified":"2026-04-08T18:45:37","modified_gmt":"2026-04-08T18:45:37","slug":"doctoral-dissertation-defense-on-constitutional-transformations-and-nation-state-building","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/uomosul.edu.iq\/en\/rights\/2026\/04\/08\/doctoral-dissertation-defense-on-constitutional-transformations-and-nation-state-building\/","title":{"rendered":"Doctoral Dissertation Defense on Constitutional Transformations and Nation-State Building"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"ds-markdown-paragraph\">On Wednesday, March 11, 2026, the College of Law at the University of Mosul witnessed the defense of a doctoral dissertation entitled &#8220;Constitutional Transformations and Their Impact on Nation-State Building,&#8221; submitted by the student Hamid Shihab Ahmed.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ds-markdown-paragraph\">The dissertation examined and analyzed the impact of constitutional transformations on the formulation of new constitutions that adopt a supreme philosophy and modern concepts of authority and the form of the state. The study also highlighted:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<p class=\"ds-markdown-paragraph\">The building of a modern nation-state based on the criteria of national unity, popular sovereignty, and the separation of powers.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p class=\"ds-markdown-paragraph\">Analyzing the conceptual framework of constitutional transformations and defining their relationship with the nation-state.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p class=\"ds-markdown-paragraph\">Studying the internal and external challenges facing these transformations.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p class=\"ds-markdown-paragraph\">Reviewing practical applications and international experiences, including (Tunisia and South Africa), in addition to highlighting the Iraqi experience before and after 2003.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"ds-markdown-paragraph\"><strong>The Defense Committee<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"ds-markdown-paragraph\">The scientific defense committee consisted of a distinguished group of professors, namely:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<p class=\"ds-markdown-paragraph\">Prof. Dr. Mohammed Youssef Mheimid (College of Law \u2013 University of Tikrit) \u2013 Chairperson<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p class=\"ds-markdown-paragraph\">Prof. Dr. Sahar Mohammed Najeeb (College of Law \u2013 University of Mosul) \u2013 Member<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p class=\"ds-markdown-paragraph\">Assoc. Prof. Dr. Yaseen Maysar Aziz (College of Law \u2013 University of Mosul) \u2013 Member<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p class=\"ds-markdown-paragraph\">Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dawla Ahmed Abdullah (College of Law \u2013 University of Mosul) \u2013 Member<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p class=\"ds-markdown-paragraph\">Assoc.
