{"id":49018,"date":"2026-08-12T17:25:45","date_gmt":"2026-08-12T17:25:45","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/uomosul.edu.iq\/en\/rights\/?p=49018"},"modified":"2026-08-12T17:25:45","modified_gmt":"2026-08-12T17:25:45","slug":"doctoral-dissertation-discusses-obstacles-to-water-security-sustainability-within-the-framework-of-public-international-law","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/uomosul.edu.iq\/en\/rights\/2026\/08\/12\/doctoral-dissertation-discusses-obstacles-to-water-security-sustainability-within-the-framework-of-public-international-law\/","title":{"rendered":"Doctoral Dissertation Discusses Obstacles to Water Security Sustainability within the Framework of Public International Law"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"ds-markdown-paragraph\"><span class=\"\">On Tuesday, 7 July 2026, the College of Law at the University of Mosul witnessed the defense of the doctoral dissertation entitled\u00a0<\/span><strong><span class=\"\">&#8220;Obstacles to Water Security Sustainability: A Study within the Framework of the Provisions of Public International Law&#8221;<\/span><\/strong><span class=\"\">, presented by the student\u00a0<\/span><strong><span class=\"\">Ahmed Zaki Habib Al-Khattabi<\/span><\/strong><span class=\"\">, under the supervision of\u00a0<\/span><strong><span class=\"\">Professor Dr. Ahmed Tariq Yassin<\/span><\/strong><span class=\"\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"ds-markdown-paragraph\"><span class=\"\">The dissertation highlighted the most prominent legal, political, economic, environmental, and security challenges hindering the achievement of sustainable water security, while clarifying their impact on the effectiveness of international rules governing shared water resources.
