The College of Law \u2013 University of Mosul discussed, on Monday, August 11, 2026, the master’s thesis titled:<\/span><\/p>\n

“The Role of Artificial Intelligence in Developing the Use of Renewable Energy and Its Impact on Sustainable Development”<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

Submitted by student Hammam Rashid Najm, under the supervision of Associate Professor Dr. Oday Mohammed Redha.<\/span><\/p>\n

The thesis addressed the role of artificial intelligence in developing the use of renewable energy and its impact on achieving sustainable development, by examining the concepts of artificial intelligence and renewable energy, reviewing the international, regional, and national legal framework regulating renewable energy, and the role of international agreements and organizations in supporting it.<\/span><\/p>\n

The study also focused on AI applications in the fields of solar energy, wind energy, and hydroelectric power, and its role in predicting energy production, managing grids and maintenance, as well as reducing waste and costs. It concluded that integrating AI technologies with renewable energy contributes to increasing energy efficiency, reducing emissions, and supporting sustainable development goals, while emphasizing the importance of developing legislation, international cooperation, and technology transfer.<\/span><\/p>\n

The thesis aimed to demonstrate AI’s ability to improve the use of renewable energy and enhance the efficiency of its production and management, reduce waste, costs, and operational problems, as well as examine the legal framework supporting the transition to renewable energy and its contribution, along with employing AI, to achieving sustainable development, protecting the environment, and mitigating the effects of climate change.<\/span><\/p>\n

The examination committee consisted of Professor Dr. Raqeeb Mohammed Jassim as Chairperson, Associate Professor Dr. Suha Hamid Salim as a member, Associate Professor Dr. Shaima Abdul Sattar Jabr as a member, and Associate Professor Dr. Oday Mohammed Redha as a member and supervisor, all from the Public International Law specialization at the College of Law \u2013 University of Mosul.<\/span><\/p>\n

This discussion comes within the framework of the College of Law’s interest in contemporary legal topics related to technological and environmental transformation and sustainable development, thereby enhancing specialized legal studies on emerging issues.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
