Prof. Dr. Rayan Mazen Faisal<\/strong>, Scientific Assistant, <strong data-start=\"603\" data-end=\"632\">Prof. Dr. Amjad Abdulhadi<\/strong>, Head of Department, several faculty members, and graduate students.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"705\" data-end=\"1180\">The study focused on detecting the prevalence of the <strong data-start=\"758\" data-end=\"805\">single-stranded DNA Torque Teno Virus (TTV)<\/strong> among blood donors using advanced molecular and immunological techniques. It also evaluated immune cytokine patterns, measuring <strong data-start=\"934\" data-end=\"973\">tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-\u03b1)<\/strong> and <strong data-start=\"978\" data-end=\"1004\">interleukin-10 (IL-10)<\/strong> levels among the donors. Positive virus isolates underwent <strong data-start=\"1064\" data-end=\"1112\">genetic sequencing and phylogenetic analysis<\/strong>, and certain strains were registered in the <strong data-start=\"1157\" data-end=\"1168\">GenBank<\/strong> database.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1182\" data-end=\"1423\">The objectives of the study included <strong data-start=\"1219\" data-end=\"1267\">immunological and molecular diagnosis of TTV<\/strong>, assessment of the immune response through cytokine measurement, and comparison of detected viral strains with global sequences in the <strong data-start=\"1403\" data-end=\"1420\">NCBI database<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1425\" data-end=\"1725\">The discussion committee was chaired by <strong data-start=\"1465\" data-end=\"1507\">Prof. Dr. Mahmoud Abdul Jabbar Hussein<\/strong>, with members <strong data-start=\"1522\" data-end=\"1556\">Prof. Dr. Aws Ibrahim Suleiman<\/strong> and <strong data-start=\"1561\" data-end=\"1604\">Asst. Prof. Dr. Enas Abdulmonem Hussein<\/strong>, supervised and co-supervised by <strong data-start=\"1638\" data-end=\"1670\">Prof. Dr. Hiyam Adel Ibrahim<\/strong> and <strong data-start=\"1675\" data-end=\"1722\">Asst. Prof. Dr. Anmar Ahmed Dawood Suleiman<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1727\" data-end=\"1814\">This research aligns with the <strong data-start=\"1757\" data-end=\"1797\">Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)<\/strong>, particularly:<\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"1815\" data-end=\"2151\">\n<li data-start=\"1815\" data-end=\"1963\">\n<p data-start=\"1817\" data-end=\"1963\"><strong data-start=\"1817\" data-end=\"1855\">Goal 3: Good Health and Well-being<\/strong>, by enhancing early virus detection and ensuring the health and safety of blood donors and the community.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1964\" data-end=\"2151\">\n<p data-start=\"1966\" data-end=\"2151\"><strong data-start=\"1966\" data-end=\"2018\">Goal 9: Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure<\/strong>, through the application of advanced molecular and immunological techniques for virus analysis and comparison with global strains.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-start=\"2153\" data-end=\"2275\">We extend our best wishes to our students for continued success and excellence in their academic and research endeavors.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Department of Biology, College of Science, University of Mosul, held the defense of the master\u2019s thesis entitled: \u201cImmunological and Molecular Detection of Torque Teno Virus among Blood Donors in Mosul City \/ Iraq\u201d presented by Noor Sabah Anwar Jassim from the Microbiology Branch, on Monday, September 8, 2025.
