On Sunday, December 28, 2025, the Department of physics at the College of Science \/ University of Mosul discussed the dissertation of the doctor tagged \u201d hydrothermal synthesis of kharsin oxide nanorods for environmental applications: the impact of growth parameters\u201d, submitted by the student Rahma Nazir thenon, in the presence of the dean of the College of science, professor Dr. Hiyam Adel Ibrahim, administrative assistant, the head of the department, a number of department teachers and graduate students.<\/p>\n

The thesis dealt with the development of a practical quantitative framework for the manufacture of high-efficiency oxide nanorods (ZnO NRs), based on a hybrid manufacturing strategy that begins with the preparation of thin seed layers by chemical vapor deposition technology, followed by the growth phase by hydrothermal synthesis. The thesis systematically studied the effect of three main growth parameters-the thickness of the seed layer, the concentration of chemical precursors, and the pH of the reactive medium, through an integrated physicochemical characterization using advanced analytical techniques. The results have demonstrated outstanding photocatalytic efficiency in water treatment applications, contributing to the development of sustainable nanosolutions to address environmental pollution.<\/p>\n
