In a qualitative scientific achievement added to the balance of the college of science at the University of Mosul, assistant professor Dr. Shaker Ghazi Jarjis Hussein al-Mawla, teaching at the Department of Biology sciences, and with the participation of Master’s student Fian Omar Murad, managed to register ten new bacterial strains of the Pseudomonas aeruginosa type for the first time in the database of the National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI).<\/p>\n
The registered strains have shown that they possess Type III secretory system genes, in addition to their resistance to a number of antibiotics and contain multiple virulence factors, which were detected by phenotypic and molecular methods, after being isolated from various clinical sources, which gives this achievement a high medical, diagnostic and research value.<\/p>\n
This achievement is a qualitative addition to the global database and an important contribution to supporting research related to virulence factors and bacterial resistance, thus enhancing the position of Mosul University in the fields of Applied Scientific Research.<\/p>\n
