As part of academic cooperation and the exchange of expertise among Iraqi universities, Assistant Professor Dr. Rabee Khallaf Hassan and Assistant Professor Dr. Saddam Issa Mustafa from the College of Science, University of Mosul, participated in the defense of the PhD dissertation of student Ahmed Salah Al-Turaifi at the College of Science, University of Babylon, on Wednesday, 20 May 2026.<\/p>\n

The dissertation was entitled:<\/p>\n

\u201cStructural Study of Selected Fold Sections in Northern Iraq and Their Roles in Rock Slope Stability.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n

The research presented a detailed structural analysis of selected fold sections in northern Iraq and examined their influence on the stability of rock slopes. The topic is of considerable scientific and practical importance in the fields of engineering geology and geological hazard management.<\/p>\n

The examination committee was chaired by Professor Dr. Amer Atiyah Lafta Al-Khalidi<\/strong> from the University of Babylon and included the following members:<\/p>\n
