Under the patronage of the President of the University of Mosul, Prof. Dr. Wahid Mahmoud Al-Ibrahimi<\/strong>, and under the supervision of the Dean of the College of Science, Prof. Dr. Hiam Adel Ibrahim<\/strong>, and the follow-up of the Head of the Department of Biology, Asst. Prof. Dr. Amjad Abdul Hadi<\/strong>, the Department of Biology, in cooperation with the Rehabilitation, Employment and Follow-up Unit and the Sustainable Development Unit, organized a scientific workshop on Tuesday morning, April 28, 2026, entitled:<\/p>\n

\u201cUtilization of Bacteria and Fungi in Biotechnological Applications.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n

The workshop addressed key practical applications of bacteria and fungi in health, clean energy, industry, and innovation, contributing to the achievement of Sustainable Development Goals.<\/p>\n

It highlighted that microorganisms represent a national resource that can be harnessed to address environmental, industrial, and agricultural challenges, while presenting local and international success stories in the production of antibiotics, enzymes, and waste treatment technologies.<\/p>\n

The workshop concluded with the importance of supporting applied research and building partnerships between universities and the private sector to commercialize scientific outputs.<\/p>\n

The workshop was delivered by Prof. Dr. Israa Ghanem Hazem<\/strong>, Asst. Prof. Dr. Warqaa Saeed Qasim<\/strong>, Asst. Prof. Dr. Enass Abdulmunim Hussein<\/strong>, and Dr. Sahar Salem Butros<\/strong>, in the presence of a group of university professors and researchers in biological and environmental sciences.<\/p>\n
