{"id":46892,"date":"2026-05-06T18:00:57","date_gmt":"2026-05-06T18:00:57","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/uomosul.edu.iq\/en\/science\/?p=46892"},"modified":"2026-06-07T08:36:08","modified_gmt":"2026-06-07T08:36:08","slug":"recording-bacterial-isolates-by-researchers-from-the-college-of-science-in-the-global-ncbi-database","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/uomosul.edu.iq\/en\/science\/2026\/05\/06\/recording-bacterial-isolates-by-researchers-from-the-college-of-science-in-the-global-ncbi-database\/","title":{"rendered":"Recording Bacterial Isolates by Researchers from the College of Science in the Global NCBI Database"},"content":{"rendered":"<p data-start=\"105\" data-end=\"427\">A research team from the Department of Biology at the College of Science has recorded several bacterial isolates in the database of the National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI), as part of its academic research activity aimed at documenting microbial biodiversity and supporting high-quality scientific output.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"429\" data-end=\"648\">The research work was conducted under the supervision of Prof. Dr. <strong data-start=\"496\" data-end=\"534\">Mahmoud Ismail Mohammed Al-Jubouri<\/strong>, with the participation of undergraduate research students: <strong data-start=\"595\" data-end=\"647\">Manhal Mahmoud, Nashwan Nawaf, and Abdullah Najm<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"650\" data-end=\"948\">The recorded bacterial isolates belong to the following genera: <strong data-start=\"714\" data-end=\"731\">Acinetobacter<\/strong> and <strong data-start=\"736\" data-end=\"754\">Flavobacterium<\/strong>. These isolates were obtained from Mosul University Lake and groundwater in the Tel Kaif district, and were identified using molecular techniques based on 16S rRNA gene sequencing and analysis.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"950\" data-end=\"1076\">The genetic sequences were officially deposited in the <strong data-start=\"1005\" data-end=\"1037\">GenBank database of the NCBI<\/strong> under the following accession numbers:<\/p>\n<ol data-start=\"1078\" data-end=\"1109\">\n<li data-section-id=\"1cyxze1\" data-start=\"1078\" data-end=\"1093\">PZ291682.1<\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"a8sm78\" data-start=\"1094\" data-end=\"1109\">PZ312080.1<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p data-start=\"1111\" data-end=\"1303\">This achievement comes within the framework of supporting academic research requirements and contributes to documenting microbial genetic data and making it available to researchers worldwide.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1305\" data-end=\"1380\">We wish continued progress and success to our students and faculty members.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1382\" data-end=\"1450\" data-is-last-node=\"\" data-is-only-node=\"\">Media and Government Communication Division<br data-start=\"1425\" data-end=\"1428\" \/>Wednesday, May 6, 2026<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A research team from the Department of Biology at the College of Science has recorded several bacterial isolates in the database of the National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI), as part of its academic research activity aimed at documenting microbial biodiversity and supporting high-quality scientific output.
