The Department of Renewable Energy organized a specialized training course titled \u201cProduction of Low-Cost, High-Efficiency Solar Cells Using Simple Methods\u201d<\/strong>, held from 19 to 27 April 2026 in Ibn Sina Hall at the department, with the participation of a group of academic staff, students, and researchers as part of the continuing education activities.<\/p>\n

The course included two main components: theoretical and practical.<\/p>\n

Theoretical part:<\/strong>
This part reviewed thin-film preparation methods and solar cell fabrication techniques, with a focus on spray pyrolysis and chemical bath deposition as simple preparation methods. It also discussed the key parameters affecting solar cell performance.<\/p>\n

Practical part:<\/strong>
Participants received laboratory training on preparing thin films using the two mentioned methods, measuring the optical and electrical properties of the prepared films, then assembling a laboratory-scale solar cell and testing its efficiency.<\/p>\n

The course also addressed the advantages and limitations of these techniques, as they are considered among the simplest and most cost-effective methods used in solar cell fabrication.<\/p>\n

The course aimed to equip academic staff and students with modern practical skills to keep pace with technological advancements.<\/p>\n
