As part of supporting scientific research and enhancing academic capabilities, M.Sc. student Marwa Khazal Mahmoud<\/strong> from the Department of Geology and Petroleum \/ College of Science<\/strong> presented a graduate seminar in the field of Sedimentary Rocks<\/strong> on Tuesday, April 28, 2026<\/strong>, attended by a number of faculty members and postgraduate students of the department.<\/p>\n

The seminar was entitled:<\/p>\n

\u201cA Sedimentological Study of the Late Jurassic Naokelekan Formation in Selected Sections of Northeastern Iraq\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n

under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Mohammed Ahmed Mohammed Amin Al-Haj<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The study aimed to identify the petrographic components and diagenetic processes affecting the formation, characterize its lithofacies, and establish the relationship between the depositional environment and the sedimentary basin.<\/p>\n

The research was based on two main aspects:<\/p>\n
