As part of its commitment to supporting scientific research and enhancing the academic capabilities of postgraduate students, the Department of Chemistry at the College of Science, University of Mosul, organized three scientific seminar presentations for PhD students specializing in Inorganic Chemistry on the morning of Wednesday, 8 April 2026. The event was attended by faculty members and postgraduate students from the department.<\/p>\n

The First Seminar<\/strong> was entitled:<\/p>\n

\u201cSynthesis and Characterization of Some Divalent Transition Metal Complexes Derived from Coumarin Ligands and Evaluation of Their Antibacterial Activity.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n

The seminar was presented by PhD student Fatima Ali Ayada<\/strong>, specializing in Inorganic Chemistry, under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Shahbaa Ali Ahmed Hassan<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The Second Seminar<\/strong> was entitled:<\/p>\n

\u201cSynthesis and Characterization of Schiff Base Complexes Derived from Morpholine and Aniline, with the Application of Selected Prepared Complexes as Catalysts in the Thermal Cracking of Atmospheric Distillation Residues of Crude Oil.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n

The seminar was presented by PhD student Karam Salahuddin Sharif<\/strong>, specializing in Inorganic Chemistry, under the supervision of Asst. Prof. Dr. Amira Fares Al-Sarraj<\/strong> and Prof. Dr. Abdulrahman Basil Fadhil<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The Third Seminar<\/strong> was entitled:<\/p>\n

\u201cSynthesis and Characterization of Some Ionic Liquids and Their Complex Salts with Selected Lewis Acids, Supported on Activated Carbon, for Studying Their Efficiency in the Desulfurization of Petroleum Derivatives.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n

The seminar was presented by PhD student Lana Abdulhamid Rashid<\/strong>, specializing in Inorganic Chemistry, under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Asim Adel Sabah<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The seminars witnessed active engagement from both faculty members and students and included valuable discussions, exchanges of ideas, and scientific insights. These interactions contributed significantly to the development of research skills and the enhancement of the academic performance of postgraduate students within the College of Science.<\/p>\n
