The Department of Biology at the College of Science, University of Mosul, held a scientific workshop on Monday morning, 16 February 2026, titled \u201cBacterial Resistance to Antibiotics and the Use of Alternative Therapies as Solutions to Promote Sustainable Development.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n

The workshop addressed the issue of bacterial resistance to antibiotics and explored alternative therapeutic approaches as part of broader efforts to support sustainable development. It presented a comprehensive roadmap to confront one of the most significant health challenges of the modern era, namely antimicrobial resistance, by proposing innovative solutions and linking them to environmental and economic sustainability.<\/p>\n

The session also highlighted a deeper understanding of the biological mechanisms through which bacteria develop resistance to antibiotics, concluding with the need for an integrated and comprehensive approach to addressing this global issue.<\/p>\n

The workshop was delivered by Assistant Professor Dr. Angham Jabar Alwan<\/strong>, Lecturer Dr. Zahraa Khairuddin Muhyiddin<\/strong>, and Lecturer Dr. Rana Waad Allah Younis<\/strong>, in the presence of a number of faculty members from the department.<\/p>\n

At the conclusion of the workshop, the organizers expressed their best wishes for continued academic success and sustained scientific contribution in service of society, strengthening research advancement at the university and supporting the Sustainable Development Goals.<\/p>\n
