The study was further supported by theoretical investigations using <strong data-start=\"887\" data-end=\"922\">Density Functional Theory (DFT)<\/strong> and <strong data-start=\"927\" data-end=\"957\">molecular docking analyses<\/strong> to explore their potential applications in the biomedical and pharmaceutical fields.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1044\" data-end=\"1308\">The research involved the synthesis of <strong data-start=\"1083\" data-end=\"1110\">seventy metal complexes<\/strong> using cobalt(II), nickel(II), copper(II), zinc(II), and cadmium(II) salts through reactions of metal chlorides and nitrates with ten hydrazone ligands prepared via hydrazone condensation reactions.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1310\" data-end=\"1988\">Advanced analytical techniques were employed to characterize the synthesized ligands and complexes, including <strong data-start=\"1420\" data-end=\"1447\">UV-Visible spectroscopy<\/strong>, <strong data-start=\"1449\" data-end=\"1472\">\u00b9H-NMR spectroscopy<\/strong>, <strong data-start=\"1474\" data-end=\"1504\">infrared (IR) spectroscopy<\/strong>, and <strong data-start=\"1510\" data-end=\"1536\">CHN elemental analysis<\/strong>. Additional analyses included metal content determination using <strong data-start=\"1601\" data-end=\"1635\">atomic absorption spectroscopy<\/strong>, measurements of <strong data-start=\"1653\" data-end=\"1686\">molar electrical conductivity<\/strong>, <strong data-start=\"1688\" data-end=\"1715\">magnetic susceptibility<\/strong>, and <strong data-start=\"1721\" data-end=\"1755\">powder X-ray diffraction (XRD)<\/strong> for selected complexes. Computational studies based on <strong data-start=\"1811\" data-end=\"1818\">DFT<\/strong> and molecular docking were also conducted for selected ligands, alongside antioxidant activity assays and antibacterial evaluations using the agar well diffusion method.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1990\" data-end=\"2287\">The findings revealed varying inhibitory activities of several synthesized ligands and complexes against the Gram-negative bacterium <strong data-start=\"2123\" data-end=\"2143\">Escherichia coli<\/strong> and the Gram-positive bacterium <strong data-start=\"2176\" data-end=\"2201\">Staphylococcus aureus<\/strong>, indicating promising potential for the development of biologically active compounds.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2289\" data-end=\"2706\">Chemical and physical analyses demonstrated that the ten ligands behaved as neutral bidentate ligands coordinating through the azomethine nitrogen atom and the carbonyl oxygen atom. The metal ions exhibited coordination numbers of <strong data-start=\"2520\" data-end=\"2536\">four and six<\/strong>, with octahedral geometries predominating among six-coordinate complexes, while four-coordinate complexes adopted either <strong data-start=\"2658\" data-end=\"2675\">square-planar<\/strong> or <strong data-start=\"2679\" data-end=\"2694\">tetrahedral<\/strong> geometries.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2708\" data-end=\"2804\">The examination committee was chaired by <strong data-start=\"2749\" data-end=\"2790\">Professor Dr. Jasim Mohammed Al-Elias<\/strong> and included:<\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"2806\" data-end=\"2996\">\n<li data-section-id=\"1pmztas\" data-start=\"2806\" data-end=\"2852\"><strong data-start=\"2808\" data-end=\"2852\">Assistant Professor Dr. Layla Jumaa Najm<\/strong><\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"1utm144\" data-start=\"2853\" data-end=\"2903\"><strong data-start=\"2855\" data-end=\"2903\">Assistant Professor Dr. Amira Faris Mohammed<\/strong><\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"1jalco1\" data-start=\"2904\" data-end=\"2948\"><strong data-start=\"2906\" data-end=\"2948\">Assistant Professor Dr. Rana Ramzi Abd<\/strong><\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"1g8ct0j\" data-start=\"2949\" data-end=\"2996\"><strong data-start=\"2951\" data-end=\"2996\">Assistant Professor Dr. Samaa Adnan Raouf<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-start=\"2998\" data-end=\"3107\">The dissertation was supervised by and examined with the participation of <strong data-start=\"3072\" data-end=\"3106\">Professor Dr. Sahbaa Ali Ahmed<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"3109\" data-end=\"3619\">At the conclusion of the defense, the committee commended the scientific quality of the dissertation and its significant findings, which contribute to advancing research in inorganic and pharmaceutical chemistry, particularly in the development of effective approaches to reduce the side effects of certain pharmaceutical compounds while enhancing their biological efficacy. The committee also emphasized the practical applicability of the outcomes in supporting both the healthcare and pharmaceutical sectors.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"3621\" data-end=\"3853\">This dissertation aligns with the <strong data-start=\"3655\" data-end=\"3710\">United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)<\/strong>, particularly <strong data-start=\"3725\" data-end=\"3763\">Goal 3: Good Health and Well-Being<\/strong>, through its contribution to improving pharmaceutical analysis and enhancing drug safety.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"3855\" data-end=\"4327\">On another occasion, and on behalf of the Dean of the College of Science, <strong data-start=\"3929\" data-end=\"3965\">Professor Dr. Hiyam Adel Ibrahim<\/strong>, the Head of the Department of Chemistry, <strong data-start=\"4008\" data-end=\"4055\">Assistant Professor Dr. Firas Ahmed Thanoon<\/strong>, presented a <strong data-start=\"4069\" data-end=\"4095\">Letter of Appreciation<\/strong> to <strong data-start=\"4099\" data-end=\"4144\">Assistant Professor Dr. Samaa Adnan Raouf<\/strong> in recognition of her distinguished scientific contributions and constructive academic remarks, which enriched
