As part of the scientific activities of the College of Science faculty members, Assistant Professor Dr. Aseel Abdulmunim Hussein Al-Laila<\/strong>, a lecturer in the Department of Medical Physics, College of Science, University of Mosul<\/strong>, participated as a member of the PhD dissertation defense committee for the dissertation entitled:<\/p>\n

\u201cMolecular Characterization of Peptides Isolated from Root Nodules of Certain Leguminous Plants and Their Inhibitory Effects Against Multidrug-Resistant Pathogenic Bacteria.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n

The dissertation was presented by Arian Mohammed Hamid Ismail<\/strong>, a PhD candidate from the Department of Biology, College of Education for Pure Sciences<\/strong>, under the supervision of Professor Dr. Najwa Ibrahim Khalil<\/strong>, on Sunday, 15 February 2026<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The study focused on the isolation and characterization of bioactive peptides from the root nodules of selected leguminous plants and the investigation of their inhibitory activity against multidrug-resistant pathogenic bacteria. Advanced molecular and analytical techniques were employed to evaluate their potential as promising therapeutic alternatives in addressing the growing challenge of antibiotic resistance.<\/p>\n

The defense session was conducted in the presence of the examination committee members and the supervisor, during which the scientific and methodological aspects of the dissertation were thoroughly evaluated. The committee also discussed the findings of the study, which represent a valuable scientific contribution to the fields of molecular biology and biological applications.<\/p>\n

Dr. Al-Laila\u2019s participation in the defense committee reflects the ongoing commitment to strengthening scientific collaboration among the University\u2019s colleges, supporting research activities, and promoting the exchange of academic expertise, thereby contributing to the advancement of scientific and research excellence.<\/p>\n
