Under the patronage of the President of the University of Mosul, Professor Wahid Mahmoud Al-Ibrahimi<\/strong>, and the supervision of the Dean of the College of Science, Professor Hiyam Adel Ibrahim<\/strong>, with the follow-up of the Head of the Department of Biology<\/strong>, Professor Amjad Abdulhadi<\/strong>, and as part of its commitment to promoting public health and medical awareness, the Department of Biology organized a scientific workshop entitled \u201cVitamin D3 and Its Relationship with Obesity in Men and Women\u201d<\/strong> on the morning of Tuesday, February 10, 2026<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The workshop aimed to introduce Vitamin D3<\/strong>, including its chemical structure, sources, serum concentration levels, and its vital role in growth and the regulation of metabolic processes within the human body.<\/p>\n

The workshop also discussed the impact of Vitamin D3 deficiency<\/strong> on weight gain and obesity through its influence on hormones associated with appetite regulation and various physiological functions. The presenters highlighted that women may be more susceptible to weight gain resulting from Vitamin D3 deficiency. The workshop emphasized the importance of maintaining adequate Vitamin D3 levels to ensure hormonal balance and overall health.<\/p>\n
