The Department of Chemistry at the College of Science discussed a PhD dissertation entitled \u201cDevelopment of Different Analytical Methods for the Determination of Some Pharmaceutical Compounds\u201d<\/strong> on Thursday, February 12, 2026<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The dissertation was presented by Safaa AbdulAleem Ahmed Zakaria<\/strong>, a PhD candidate in Analytical Chemistry<\/strong>. Her research focused on developing a variety of spectroscopic methods for the determination of eight pharmaceutical compounds, with particular emphasis on improving analytical sensitivity and accuracy while minimizing the environmental impact of analytical procedures.<\/p>\n

The study employed fourth-derivative spectrophotometry<\/strong> for the simultaneous determination of pharmaceutical mixtures without the need for prior separation. It also utilized green-synthesized silver nanoparticles<\/strong>, along with various reagents and dyes, as part of the analytical process. Furthermore, internationally recognized green chemistry assessment tools were applied to evaluate the environmental sustainability and ecological impact of the proposed methods.<\/p>\n

The results demonstrated high sensitivity and excellent linearity across a wide concentration range. Statistical validation confirmed the suitability of all proposed methods for routine and research applications in pharmaceutical analysis.<\/p>\n
