Amid the beauty of nature and its vibrant colors, third-year students of the Biology Branch<\/strong> in the Department of Biology<\/strong> at the College of Science enjoyed a unique hands-on learning experience, where they were trained in the scientific methods of collecting and preparing plant samples. The activity transformed theoretical knowledge into practical skills, enriching their research and laboratory experience.<\/p>\n

The activity was conducted as part of the laboratory program of the Department of Biology on the morning of Monday, February 9, 2026<\/strong>, in the gardens of the Student Center, under the supervision of Assistant Lecturer Noor Al-Huda Ahmed<\/strong> and Assistant Lecturer Safwan Jassim Sultan<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The practical training focused on the proper scientific principles for plant sample collection, selecting suitable plant parts, and carrying out preliminary preparation procedures to preserve their active constituents for use in subsequent laboratory studies and experiments.<\/p>\n

The activity aimed to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application, develop students\u2019 research and laboratory skills, and enhance their understanding of the importance of natural products as valuable sources of bioactive compounds with medical and scientific applications. It also sought to reinforce the principles of scientific fieldwork and academic discipline.<\/p>\n

At the conclusion of the activity, students demonstrated remarkable engagement and enthusiasm, reflecting their commitment to benefiting from practical applications in developing their scientific capabilities.<\/p>\n
