As part of the seminar activities organized by the College of Science \/ Department of Biology<\/strong>, two academic seminars were held on the morning of Wednesday, February 4, 2026<\/strong>, at 10:00 a.m.<\/strong> in Dr. Mahmoud Al-Haj Qasim Hall<\/strong>, with the participation of a number of faculty members and postgraduate students.<\/p>\n

The first seminar was presented by Ph.D. student Ahmed Khalid Hamdoon<\/strong> in the field of Microbiology<\/strong>, entitled:<\/p>\n

\u201cIsolation and Identification of Surface Proteins of <\/strong>Streptococcus<\/strong><\/em> spp. Isolated from Different Clinical Sources, and Studying Their Relation with Immunological Parameters\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n

under the supervision of Professor Dr. Hiyam Adel Ibrahim<\/strong> and Assistant Professor Dr. Aws Ibrahim Suleiman<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The seminar focused on the isolation and identification of surface proteins of Streptococcus<\/em> species isolated from various clinical sources, as well as the study of their relationship with immunological parameters, highlighting their significance in understanding pathogenic mechanisms and immune responses.<\/p>\n

The second seminar was presented by M.Sc. student Hanan Aziz Nayif<\/strong> in the field of Zoology<\/strong>, entitled:<\/p>\n

\u201cEvaluation of Certain Physiological and Biochemical Parameters as Risk Factors in Thyroid Cancer\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n

under the supervision of Lecturer Dr. Abeer Ali Kadhim<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The seminar addressed the evaluation of several physiological and biochemical indicators and their potential role as risk factors for thyroid cancer, emphasizing their importance in early diagnosis and clinical follow-up.<\/p>\n
