In the College of Science \/ Department of New and Renewable Energies, a workshop was held under the patronage of the President of the University of Mosul, Prof. Dr. Qusay Kamal Al-Din Al-Ahmadi, and under the supervision of the Dean of the College of Science, Assistant Professor Dr. Hayam Adel Al-Taii, the respected workshop entitled “Energy Production Using Biofuels” delivered by (Eng. Dr. Saad Fadel) one of the teachers of the department, and the head of the department, Prof. Dr. Asim Ahmed Issa.The workshop dealt with the definition of biofuels as a source of renewable energy that is produced by converting biological materials, whether they are (animal or vegetable) into liquid fuels such as ethyl alcohol (ethanol) or biodiesel, and the workshop also dealt with the negatives and advantages of using biofuels from several aspects.She also explained that the use of biofuels is beneficial because it is clean and environmentally friendly by reducing air pollutants and by recycling gases and using them again in various means of transport.The workshop was attended by professors with different specializations from the University of Mosul and other universities in Iraq,
