Assistant<\/span> professor<\/span> Dr. Talal<\/span> Sabhan<\/span> Saleh<\/span>, teaching at<\/span> the Department of medical<\/span> physics<\/span> at<\/span> the Faculty of Science \u2013 University of Mosul<\/span>, participated<\/span> in<\/span> an international research team in an expanded scientific study<\/span> entitled<\/span>: \u201cGlobal dataset of soil eukaryotic communities created with a uniform protocol and long-read sequencing\u201d<\/span> It is published<\/span> in the Scientific Data Journal published by the international publishing house Springer Nature, which is classified as one of the first quarter journals (Q1), which is one of the journals specialized in publishing data and large-scale scientific collections.<\/span> The study<\/span> contributed<\/span> to the creation of a unified global database to study the diversity of eukaryotic communities in the soil, based on samples collected from more than 4,063 sites and with the participation of researchers and scientific institutions from 121 countries around the world, according to a unified protocol and long-reading sequencing techniques.<\/span> Iraq<\/span> had a presence<\/span> in<\/span> this<\/span> global<\/span> scientific<\/span> project<\/span> through samples collected<\/span> from<\/span> four<\/span> Iraqi<\/span> cities<\/span>, including the city of Mosul, with the participation of assistant professor Dr. Talal Sabhan Saleh, reflecting the presence of the University of Mosul and its contribution to one of the large-scale international research initiatives in the field of biodiversity and the study of living communities in the soil.<\/span> The GloSED database is expected to be an important scientific reference for<\/span> researchers<\/span> around<\/span> the world, supporting future studies in the fields of biological and environmental diversity, genomics, monitoring of environmental changes, and providing unified data that contribute to enhancing understanding of biodiversity at the global level.<\/span> This participation is a distinguished addition to the scientific record of the Faculty of Science, and reflects the presence of the University of Mosul in international research projects, as well as its contribution to enhancing scientific cooperation and knowledge exchange at the global level.<\/span> It is noteworthy<\/span> that assistant<\/span> professor<\/span> Dr. Talal<\/span> sebhan<\/span> Saleh<\/span> is a lecturer<\/span> in<\/span> the Department of medical physics at the Faculty of Science \u2013 University of Mosul, specializing in Molecular Microbiology.<\/span><\/p>\n
