data-src-align=\"0:344\">On Wednesday, July 22, 2026, the Department of life sciences at the Faculty of science at the University of Mosul discussed the master&#8217;s thesis tagged \u201d efficiency of oil extracted from sunflower plant as a reducing agent for silver nanoparticles and their role as an antifungal agent\u201d, presented by master&#8217;s student Hajar Samir Ismail al-Saegh from the Botany branch, in the presence of a number of faculty teachers, graduate students and researchers.<\/span> <span class=\"YPkS7KbdpWfGdYKd3QB9\" data-src-align=\"353:7\">The letter<\/span> <span class=\"YPkS7KbdpWfGdYKd3QB9\" data-src-align=\"348:4\">aimed<\/span> <span class=\"YPkS7KbdpWfGdYKd3QB9\" data-src-align=\"365:7\">to invest<\/span> <span class=\"YPkS7KbdpWfGdYKd3QB9\" data-src-align=\"373:5\">the oil<\/span> <span class=\"YPkS7KbdpWfGdYKd3QB9\" data-src-align=\"379:8\">extracted<\/span> <span class=\"YPkS7KbdpWfGdYKd3QB9\" data-src-align=\"391:37\">from the sunflower plant (Helianthus annuus L.<\/span><span class=\"YPkS7KbdpWfGdYKd3QB9\" data-src-align=\"430:6\">) Resulting<\/span> <span class=\"YPkS7KbdpWfGdYKd3QB9\" data-src-align=\"440:220\">from the cultivation of plant tissues, as a reducing and stabilizing agent in the biosynthesis of silver nanoparticles in a safe and environmentally friendly way, and then characterizing their physical and chemical properties using UV-Visible Spectroscopy, FTIR, XRD and Cem techniques.<\/span> <span class=\"YPkS7KbdpWfGdYKd3QB9\" data-src-align=\"668:20\">The study also addressed the<\/span> <span class=\"YPkS7KbdpWfGdYKd3QB9\" data-src-align=\"689:5\">evaluation of the efficiency<\/span> <span class=\"YPkS7KbdpWfGdYKd3QB9\" data-src-align=\"701:29\">of bio-manufactured silver<\/span> <span class=\"YPkS7KbdpWfGdYKd3QB9\" data-src-align=\"695:5\">nanoparticles<\/span> <span class=\"YPkS7KbdpWfGdYKd3QB9\" data-src-align=\"734:5\">in inhibiting<\/span> <span class=\"YPkS7KbdpWfGdYKd3QB9\" data-src-align=\"740:3\">the growth<\/span> <span class=\"YPkS7KbdpWfGdYKd3QB9\" data-src-align=\"744:203\">of a number of plant pathogenic and toxin-producing fungi, studying their effect in reducing the production of those toxins, as well as evaluating changes in the level of gene expression of genes associated with their production using Real-time PCR technology.<\/span> <span class=\"YPkS7KbdpWfGdYKd3QB9\" data-src-align=\"958:7\">The results<\/span> <span class=\"YPkS7KbdpWfGdYKd3QB9\" data-src-align=\"951:6\">showed<\/span> <span class=\"YPkS7KbdpWfGdYKd3QB9\" data-src-align=\"966:4\">the successful<\/span> <span class=\"YPkS7KbdpWfGdYKd3QB9\" data-src-align=\"979:6\">biosynthesis<\/span> <span class=\"YPkS7KbdpWfGdYKd3QB9\" data-src-align=\"993:5\">of silver<\/span> <span class=\"YPkS7KbdpWfGdYKd3QB9\" data-src-align=\"986:6\">nanoparticles<\/span> <span class=\"YPkS7KbdpWfGdYKd3QB9\" data-src-align=\"1008:23\">and their high inhibitory effectiveness against<\/span> <span class=\"YPkS7KbdpWfGdYKd3QB9\" data-src-align=\"1048:136\">a number of pathogenic fungi, as well as their ability to reduce the production of mycotoxins and cause significant changes in the level of gene expression of the genes responsible for their synthesis.<\/span> <span class=\"YPkS7KbdpWfGdYKd3QB9\" data-src-align=\"1194:7\">The study<\/span> <span class=\"YPkS7KbdpWfGdYKd3QB9\" data-src-align=\"1188:5\">recommended<\/span> <span class=\"YPkS7KbdpWfGdYKd3QB9\" data-src-align=\"1211:306\">the possibility of employing bio-manufactured silver nanoparticles using sunflower oil as a promising agent in the fight against pathogenic fungi and reducing mycotoxins, because of its bio-efficiency, as well as being an environmentally friendly option compared to some traditional methods, opening up prospects for future applications in the fields of Agriculture and biotechnology.<\/span> <span class=\"YPkS7KbdpWfGdYKd3QB9\"
