data-src-align=\"0:251\">On Monday, July 27, 2026, the Department of life sciences at the Faculty of science at Mosul University discussed the master thesis entitled \u201d molecular diagnosis of bacteria causing bacteremia in adults and finding their relationship with liver function \u201d presented by master student Iman said Musa fares.<\/span> <span class=\"YPkS7KbdpWfGdYKd3QB9\" data-src-align=\"255:67\">The discussion was attended by a number of teachers of the Department of life sciences and graduate students.<\/span> <span class=\"YPkS7KbdpWfGdYKd3QB9\" data-src-align=\"331:400\">The aim of the study was to isolate and diagnose bacteria causing bacteremia in adults using culture tests and molecular techniques based on the 16S rRNA gene sequence, and to study their relationship with liver function by evaluating a number of biochemical indicators, as well as identifying the dominant bacterial species, testing their sensitivity to antibiotics, analyzing their fatty acid content, and detecting iron carrier genes (Siderophores) using Multiplex PCR technology.<\/span> <span class=\"YPkS7KbdpWfGdYKd3QB9\" data-src-align=\"735:20\">The results of the study showed<\/span> <span class=\"YPkS7KbdpWfGdYKd3QB9\" data-src-align=\"756:5\">the diagnosis<\/span> <span class=\"YPkS7KbdpWfGdYKd3QB9\" data-src-align=\"762:153\">of a number of bacterial species causing bacteremia, most notably Klebsiella pneumoniae, Klebsiella africana and lescherichia fergussonii, along with other bacterial species.<\/span> <span class=\"YPkS7KbdpWfGdYKd3QB9\" data-src-align=\"925:7\">The study<\/span> <span class=\"YPkS7KbdpWfGdYKd3QB9\" data-src-align=\"920:4\">also documented<\/span> <span class=\"YPkS7KbdpWfGdYKd3QB9\" data-src-align=\"933:5\">the diagnosis<\/span> <span class=\"YPkS7KbdpWfGdYKd3QB9\" data-src-align=\"939:27\">of Klebsiella africana bacteria<\/span> <span class=\"YPkS7KbdpWfGdYKd3QB9\" data-src-align=\"976:7\">for the first time globally<\/span> <span class=\"YPkS7KbdpWfGdYKd3QB9\" data-src-align=\"987:5\">from<\/span> <span class=\"YPkS7KbdpWfGdYKd3QB9\" data-src-align=\"993:100\">cases of bacteremia, as well as proving a significant relationship between the incidence of bacteremia and the rise of some indicators of liver function.<\/span> <span class=\"YPkS7KbdpWfGdYKd3QB9\" data-src-align=\"1100:7\">The results<\/span> <span class=\"YPkS7KbdpWfGdYKd3QB9\" data-src-align=\"1108:4\">also<\/span> <span class=\"YPkS7KbdpWfGdYKd3QB9\" data-src-align=\"1094:5\">showed<\/span> <span class=\"YPkS7KbdpWfGdYKd3QB9\" data-src-align=\"1118:5\">a variation<\/span> <span class=\"YPkS7KbdpWfGdYKd3QB9\" data-src-align=\"1127:5\">in the patterns<\/span> <span class=\"YPkS7KbdpWfGdYKd3QB9\" data-src-align=\"1133:250\">of antibiotic resistance, differences in the content of fatty acids and the susceptibility of isolates to the use of some amino acids, in addition to the detection of a number of iron carrier genes associated with virulence factors, contributing to the understanding of the pathogenetic mechanisms of these bacteria and the development of diagnostic and treatment methods.<\/span> <span class=\"YPkS7KbdpWfGdYKd3QB9\" data-src-align=\"1398:8\">The discussion<\/span> <span class=\"YPkS7KbdpWfGdYKd3QB9\" data-src-align=\"1393:4\">Committee<\/span> <span class=\"YPkS7KbdpWfGdYKd3QB9\" data-src-align=\"1387:5\">was chaired<\/span> <span class=\"YPkS7KbdpWfGdYKd3QB9\" data-src-align=\"1407:244\">by Dr. Ryan Mazen Faisal Saeed, and the membership of assistant professor Dr. Aseel Abdel Moneim Hussein Mohammed and teacher Dr. Sahar Salem Boutros Al-naqar, while Professor Dr. Ghada Abdul Razzaq Mohammed Ibrahim supervised the thesis and participated as a member of the discussion Committee.<\/span> <span class=\"YPkS7KbdpWfGdYKd3QB9\" data-src-align=\"1655:3\">At<\/span> <span class=\"YPkS7KbdpWfGdYKd3QB9\" data-src-align=\"1664:248\">the end of the discussion, the committee praised the scientific level of the thesis, stressing the importance of its results in the fields of microbiology and molecular diagnostics, and its role in enhancing the understanding of bacteria causing bacteremia and its relationship with liver function, thus contributing to support research efforts and the development of diagnostic and treatment methods.<\/span>
