The Department of life sciences at the Faculty of Science \u2013 University of Mosul, on Sunday, August 9, 2026, held four scientific seminars for graduate students, in the presence of a number of department teachers and graduate students.<\/span> The seminars<\/span> included<\/span> a presentation of<\/span> outstanding<\/span> research<\/span> projects<\/span> for Master<\/span>‘s students<\/span>, as<\/span> follows<\/span>: The first seminar<\/span>: for the master’s student in Microbiology, the news of Muhammad Iqbal, entitled<\/span>: \u201cPrevalence of Virulence Genes among Major Pathogens Associated with Ventilator-Associated Infection\u201d<\/span> The seminar<\/span> dealt<\/span> with the<\/span> study of the prevalence of virulence genes<\/span> in<\/span> the most important<\/span> pathogens<\/span> associated<\/span> with infections associated with artificial respiration devices, which contributes to the understanding of the genetic factors associated with the pathogenicity of these isolates, under the supervision of Professor Dr. Hiam Adel Ibrahim al-Taie.<\/span> The second seminar<\/span>: for the master’s student in zoology Zubaida Mohammed Abdullah Meri, entitled<\/span>: \u201cThe role<\/span> of administration of chemical<\/span> doses<\/span> in<\/span> patients with gastrointestinal<\/span> cancer<\/span> using<\/span> hematological and chemobiological indicators<\/span>\u201d The seminar<\/span> dealt<\/span> with the<\/span> study of the effect of chemical doses<\/span> on<\/span> a number of hematological and biochemical indicators<\/span> in<\/span> patients with gastrointestinal cancer<\/span>, in order<\/span> to assess the changes associated with treatment and follow-up the health status of patients, under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Mahmoud Ismail Mohammed Hassan.<\/span> The third<\/span> seminar<\/span>: for the master’s student in Botany Abdul Rahman Ziad Tarek Ahmed, entitled<\/span>: “Inhibition<\/span> of the growth of fungi isolated<\/span> from food and producing more<\/span> than one type of mycotoxin<\/span>\u201d The seminar<\/span> dealt<\/span> with the<\/span> study of the efficiency<\/span> of some<\/span> transactions<\/span> in inhibiting<\/span> the growth of fungi<\/span> isolated<\/span> from food<\/span>, especially<\/span> species<\/span> capable<\/span> of producing more than one type of mycotoxins, because of the health and environmental risks, under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Maha Akram Muhammad Ali.<\/span> The fourth seminar<\/span>: for the master’s student in Botany Sumaya Khazal Ismail Majid, entitled<\/span>: \u201cThe role of<\/span> mycorrhiza<\/span> in the activation<\/span> of<\/span> induced plant<\/span> immunity<\/span> against<\/span> fungal<\/span> diseases<\/span>\u201d The seminar<\/span> dealt<\/span> with the<\/span> study of the role<\/span> of<\/span> mycorrhiza fungi<\/span> in enhancing<\/span> the mechanisms of resistance<\/span> and immunity in plants and stimulating their response against fungal diseases, which supports the trend towards the use of sustainable biological means in crop protection, under the supervision of assistant professor Dr. Anfal Moayed Jalal al-Din Suleiman.<\/span> These seminars<\/span> came<\/span> within<\/span> the requirements of the completion of graduate students in<\/span> the department<\/span>, as they witnessed constructive scientific discussions<\/span> and valuable interventions from the audience that contributed to enriching research topics and developing them to serve the scientific career.<\/span> We wish<\/span> our dear<\/span> students<\/span> continued excellence and<\/span> success<\/span> in their scientific career.<\/span><\/p>\n
