As<\/span> part of its ongoing efforts to support scientific research and enhance the documentation of molecular data, a research team from the Department of life sciences at the Faculty of science has registered two new parasitic strains attributed to the tick parasite Rhipicephalus turanicus in the database of the National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI).<\/span> The research team included Professor Dr. Bushra<\/span> Hassan<\/span> Al-Nuaimi<\/span>, Assistant<\/span> Professor<\/span> Najwa<\/span> Mahfouz<\/span>, assistant teacher Sahar Taher from the Department of life sciences, and in conjunction with assistant professor Wahda Abdul Razzaq kharoufa from the Mosul Medical College, after collecting samples from Buffalo animals in Badush District of Mosul city.<\/span> The two breeds<\/span> received<\/span> their accession<\/span> numbers<\/span> in<\/span> the global<\/span> database<\/span>: PZ735751.1<\/span> PZ735752.1<\/span> This achievement represents<\/span> an important<\/span> scientific<\/span> addition<\/span> to the research activity of the Department of life sciences, and a contribution to enriching the global databases with molecular information, to support studies related to parasitic diversity, genetic variation and molecular classification, and opens the way for the use of these data in future relevant research.<\/span> On this occasion, the Faculty of science congratulates the researchers on this scientific achievement, wishing them continued success and success, and more giving and excellence in their scientific and research career.<\/span><\/p>\n
