On Thursday, August 20, 2026, the Department of Earth and petroleum sciences at the Faculty of science at the University of Mosul discussed the master’s thesis tagged \u201d life stratigraphy of calcareous nanoliths for the formation of cometans in the well ( 41 \u2013 ja), in northern Iraq \u201d by the researcher ( Rawa Khalid Shaker Mahmoud al-Shamma), in the presence of the head of the department, Dr. Omar khalouk Mohammed Sajid, and a number of department teachers and graduate students .<\/span> The taxonomic study of the studied section in this research recorded<\/span> the diagnosis of<\/span> (63<\/span>) types<\/span> of<\/span> calcareous<\/span> Nano-fossils<\/span> belonging<\/span> to (36<\/span>) genera<\/span> within<\/span> (15<\/span>) families<\/span> (60<\/span>) species previously named<\/span> three<\/span> species open scientific nomenclature<\/span> until<\/span> new information is obtained to support<\/span> the diagnosis<\/span> in the future<\/span> Five<\/span> life<\/span> zones<\/span> were identified<\/span> through<\/span> the study<\/span> site<\/span> in the jumbur<\/span> oil<\/span> field<\/span> and were arranged<\/span> from<\/span> the oldest<\/span> at the bottom<\/span> to<\/span> the newest<\/span> at the top<\/span> Marthasterites furcatus interval biozone CC 13.<\/span> Micula staurophora interval biozone CC 14.<\/span> Reinhardtites anthophorus interval biozone CC15.<\/span> Lucianorhabdus cayeuxii interval biozone CC 16.<\/span> Calculites obscurus interval biozone CC 17.<\/span> The stratigraphic age of the studied section of the comitan formation has been determined to extend from<\/span> the early<\/span> conishian<\/span> to<\/span> the early<\/span> Campanian<\/span> and this age determination corresponds<\/span> to the approved regional and international records of the sedimentary basin of the formation.<\/span> The climatic conditions in the comitan formation were reconstructed,<\/span> where insights<\/span> were provided<\/span> on<\/span> the climatic<\/span> conditions<\/span> during<\/span> the late<\/span> Cretaceous<\/span> period<\/span> based on<\/span> the function<\/span> nanocalcite<\/span> fossils<\/span> and it turned out<\/span> that they reflect<\/span> the warm<\/span> climatic<\/span> conditions<\/span> that prevailed<\/span> during<\/span> deposition<\/span> in<\/span> a deep<\/span> marine<\/span> environment<\/span> \u060c The discussion Committee was chaired by Assistant Professor<\/span> Dr. Ibrahim<\/span> Younis<\/span> Ahmed<\/span> Al-Sharifi<\/span>, with the membership of assistant professor<\/span> Dr.<\/span> Mahfouz<\/span> Abdullah<\/span> Ali<\/span>, teacher<\/span> Dr.<\/span> Rana<\/span> Abdullah<\/span> Mahmoud<\/span>, and with the membership<\/span> and supervision<\/span> of assistant<\/span> professor<\/span> Dr.<\/span> Abdullah<\/span> Sultan<\/span> Shihab<\/span> Ahmed<\/span>.
