On Monday, August 24, 2026, the Department of Earth and petroleum sciences at the Faculty of science of Mosul University discussed the master’s thesis tagged \u201d life stratigraphy of calcareous nanoliths to form a cocoon in the well ( Az_29 ) in northwestern Iraq \u201d by the researcher ( ghadak Khairy Abdul Razzaq Abdul Rahim al-Barawi), part of which was attended by the dean of the Faculty of science, professor Dr. Hiam Adel Ibrahim, the assistant dean for Scientific Affairs, Dr. Ryan Mazen al-Obeidi, the head of the department, Dr. Omar khalouk Mohammed Sajid and a number of department teachers and graduate students.<\/span> The study dealt with the classification<\/span> of calcareous calcareous nannofossils for<\/span> the formation of the cocoon<\/span> in<\/span> the Ain<\/span> zaleh<\/span> oil<\/span> field<\/span> in<\/span> northwestern<\/span> Iraq<\/span>, determining its stratigraphic life zone and<\/span> comparing<\/span> it globally<\/span> to determine<\/span> the age of the formation<\/span> as well<\/span> as the possibility of identifying<\/span> the nature of the ancient<\/span> climate<\/span> during<\/span> the deposition of the cocoon<\/span> in the study section<\/span> * The taxonomic study of the studied section recorded<\/span> the diagnosis<\/span> of 52<\/span> species<\/span> belonging to<\/span> 25<\/span> genera<\/span> belonging to<\/span> 13<\/span> families<\/span> of<\/span> calcareous<\/span> nanofossils<\/span> Four life zones have been identified<\/span>, which are among the oldest<\/span> at the bottom<\/span> : 1-Ceratolithoides aculeus Interavel zone (cc20),part<\/span> 2-Uniplanarius sissinghii Interval zone (cc21)<\/span> 3-Uniplanarius trifidus Interval zone (cc22)<\/span> 4- Tranolithus phaclosus Interval zone (cc23), part<\/span> The stratigraphic age of the studied age was determined<\/span> by the end<\/span> of the early<\/span> Campanian<\/span> to<\/span> the end<\/span> of the late<\/span> Campanian<\/span> and the deposition of the schrunch<\/span> formation<\/span> was under<\/span> tropical to subtropical climatic<\/span> conditions<\/span> * The study recommended<\/span> the study<\/span> of<\/span> calcareous<\/span> nanofossils of<\/span> other<\/span> sections<\/span> of the formation of schranch in<\/span> Iraq<\/span> in<\/span> order to study<\/span> the boundary<\/span> between<\/span> the Mesozoic and Cenozoic eras<\/span> The discussion Committee was chaired by Dr. Omar Ahmed Mouloud Al-Badrani,<\/span> the membership of assistant professor<\/span> Dr. Ibrahim<\/span> Younis<\/span> Ahmed<\/span> Al-Sharifi<\/span>, teacher<\/span> Dr.<\/span> Alaa<\/span> Sabah<\/span> Saleh<\/span>, and the membership<\/span> and supervision<\/span> of assistant<\/span> professor<\/span> Dr.<\/span> Mahfouz<\/span> Abdullah<\/span> Ali<\/span> \u060c Our wishes<\/span> to the researcher and to all graduate students and faculty teachers for success, excellence and creativity .<\/span><\/p>\n
