Sunday, August 30, 2026, the Department of physics at the Faculty of science at the University of Mosul discussed the doctoral dissertation tagged \u201d manufacturing titanium\u2013nickel bioalloys by powder technology and studying some of their mechanical and physical properties\u201d, which was submitted by doctoral student Shaima Talal Atallah.<\/span> <span class=\"YPkS7KbdpWfGdYKd3QB9\" data-src-align=\"266:8\">The thesis<\/span> <span class=\"YPkS7KbdpWfGdYKd3QB9\" data-src-align=\"261:4\">was aimed<\/span> <span class=\"YPkS7KbdpWfGdYKd3QB9\" data-src-align=\"279:241\">at manufacturing and characterizing titanium\u2013nickel (TiNi) alloys of various weight compositions, using powder metallurgy technology, by mixing and pressing powders, then subjecting the samples to various heat treatments and studying their effect on the microstructure and physical and mechanical properties of the alloy.<\/span> <span class=\"YPkS7KbdpWfGdYKd3QB9\" data-src-align=\"530:7\">The study<\/span> <span class=\"YPkS7KbdpWfGdYKd3QB9\" data-src-align=\"524:5\">included<\/span> <span class=\"YPkS7KbdpWfGdYKd3QB9\" data-src-align=\"546:20\">the use of XRD, SEM and Weds techniques<\/span> <span class=\"YPkS7KbdpWfGdYKd3QB9\" data-src-align=\"567:6\">to characterize<\/span> <span class=\"YPkS7KbdpWfGdYKd3QB9\" data-src-align=\"574:6\">the structure<\/span> <span class=\"YPkS7KbdpWfGdYKd3QB9\" data-src-align=\"581:114\">and composition, as well as the study of physical and mechanical properties, including periodic Thermal oxidation, hardness and compression resistance.<\/span> <span class=\"YPkS7KbdpWfGdYKd3QB9\" data-src-align=\"699:23\">The results showed that the increase<\/span> <span class=\"YPkS7KbdpWfGdYKd3QB9\" data-src-align=\"729:6\">in nickel<\/span> <span class=\"YPkS7KbdpWfGdYKd3QB9\" data-src-align=\"723:5\">content<\/span> <span class=\"YPkS7KbdpWfGdYKd3QB9\" data-src-align=\"746:8\">and heat<\/span> <span class=\"YPkS7KbdpWfGdYKd3QB9\" data-src-align=\"736:9\">treatment<\/span> <span class=\"YPkS7KbdpWfGdYKd3QB9\" data-src-align=\"755:5\">contributed<\/span> <span class=\"YPkS7KbdpWfGdYKd3QB9\" data-src-align=\"764:5\">to improving<\/span> <span class=\"YPkS7KbdpWfGdYKd3QB9\" data-src-align=\"777:8\">the microstructure<\/span> <span class=\"YPkS7KbdpWfGdYKd3QB9\" data-src-align=\"786:226\">and mechanical and physical properties of the alloys, as the hardness of Vickers before heat treatment increased from 118.9 to 244.9 HV, reaching after the first heat treatment to 338.56\u2013438.81 HV, while compression resistance reached 445.8 MPa at a nickel content of 0.7 g.<\/span> <span class=\"YPkS7KbdpWfGdYKd3QB9\" data-src-align=\"1029:7\">The oxidation<\/span> <span class=\"YPkS7KbdpWfGdYKd3QB9\" data-src-align=\"1023:5\">results<\/span> <span class=\"YPkS7KbdpWfGdYKd3QB9\" data-src-align=\"1017:5\">also showed<\/span> <span class=\"YPkS7KbdpWfGdYKd3QB9\" data-src-align=\"1037:6\">an improvement<\/span> <span class=\"YPkS7KbdpWfGdYKd3QB9\" data-src-align=\"1047:107\">in corrosion resistance and oxide layer growth, confirming the possibility of developing alloys with outstanding performance for Biological and engineering applications.<\/span> <span class=\"YPkS7KbdpWfGdYKd3QB9\" data-src-align=\"1169:8\">The discussion<\/span> <span class=\"YPkS7KbdpWfGdYKd3QB9\" data-src-align=\"1164:4\">Committee<\/span> <span class=\"YPkS7KbdpWfGdYKd3QB9\" data-src-align=\"1158:5\">was chaired<\/span> <span class=\"YPkS7KbdpWfGdYKd3QB9\" data-src-align=\"1178:292\">by Prof. Dr. Yahya Abdul Karim Salman, with the membership of Prof. Dr. Saleh Younis Darwish, assistant professor Hazem Saleh Ahmed, assistant professor Dr. Abdul Khaliq Ayoub Suleiman, assistant professor Dr. Iyad giad Jarjis, under the supervision and membership of Prof. Dr. Mahmoud Ahmed Hammoud and Prof. Dr. Mazen Ahmed Abdel Ghazal.<\/span> <span class=\"YPkS7KbdpWfGdYKd3QB9\" data-src-align=\"1483:283\">At the end of the discussion, the head of the physics department, assistant professor Dr. Samir Ahmed Mahmoud, on
