Within the framework of scientific and academic cooperation between the faculties of the University of Mosul, assistant professor Dr. Warqa Saeed Qasim Mohammed, teaching at the Department of life sciences at the Faculty of Science \u2013 University of Mosul, participated in the discussion of the master thesis tagged \u201d the biological effect of extracts and nanoparticles of Kiwi peels inhibiting Candida sp.<\/span> Isolated<\/span> from the mouth of babies<\/span>\u201d, presented<\/span> by student Raya Salah al \u2013 Din Mohammed at the Department of life sciences at the Faculty of education for girls-University of Mosul, on Sunday, August 30, 2026 in the Graduate Studies Hall of the Department.<\/span> The study<\/span> aimed<\/span> at the green<\/span> synthesis<\/span> of silver<\/span> nanoparticles<\/span> (AgNPs<\/span>) using Kiwi peel extract, evaluating their effectiveness in inhibiting the growth of Candida SP fungus.<\/span> Isolated<\/span> from the mouths of infants, contributing to the study of possible natural alternatives to reduce the etiology of candidiasis.<\/span> The results<\/span> showed<\/span> that Kiwi<\/span> peel<\/span> extract<\/span> contains<\/span> six<\/span> major phenolic<\/span> compounds<\/span> according<\/span> to HPLC analysis, as well as the success of the process of green synthesis of silver nanoparticles, as spectral examinations and color changes showed the role of active compounds and vitamin C in Kiwi peels in reducing silver nitrate and forming stable and homogeneous nanoparticles.<\/span> The discussion committee consisted of Professor Dr. Saleh<\/span> Mohammed<\/span> Ismail<\/span> Hassan<\/span> from<\/span> the Faculty of Agriculture \u2013 Tikrit University<\/span> as chairman<\/span>, and the membership of assistant professor<\/span> Dr. Warqa<\/span> said<\/span> Qasim<\/span> Mohammed<\/span> from<\/span> the Faculty of Science \u2013 University of Mosul<\/span>, and teacher Dr. Inaam Jassim Mohammed from the Faculty of education for girls \u2013 University of Mosul,<\/span> while Professor<\/span> Dr. Abdul<\/span> Karim<\/span> Suleiman<\/span> Hassan<\/span> assumed supervision and<\/span> membership of the committee<\/span>. This participation<\/span> comes<\/span> as a confirmation<\/span> of the distinguished scientific presence of the Faculty of science teachers and their contributions in supporting graduate students, enhancing academic cooperation and exchanging scientific experiences between the faculties of Mosul University.<\/span> Our wishes<\/span> to the professors of our college for good luck and giving,<\/span> and more brilliance<\/span> and success in their scientific career.<\/span><\/p>\n
