The Department of life sciences at the Faculty of science at the University of Mosul discussed<\/span> the tagged<\/span> master<\/span>‘s thesis<\/span>: \u201cRole of Some Types of sncRNA Genes on Regulation of Hexokinase 2 (HK2) Gene Expression and Glycolysis Process in Women with Breast Cancer\u201d<\/span> Presented<\/span> by researcher Safaa Omar ya’rib touhleh, on Tuesday, September 1, 2026.<\/span> The study<\/span> aimed<\/span> to determine the level of hyperexpression of the HK2 gene in women with breast cancer, clarify the possible regulatory role of miRNA molecules, in particular miR-143 and miR-155, and their relationship with the expression of the HK2 gene.<\/span> It<\/span> also sought<\/span> to assess<\/span> the role<\/span> of some<\/span> non<\/span>-coding<\/span> RNA<\/span> regulators<\/span>, including<\/span> lncRNAs<\/span> and circRNAs<\/span>, and their relationship<\/span> to the regulation<\/span> of glycolysis associated with the HK2 gene in breast cancer, as well as to study the Association of some genetic variants, including single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) and copy number variations (CNVs), with susceptibility to breast cancer.<\/span> The level of gene expression of the studied indicators was determined using real-time quantitative polymerase chain reaction (qRT-PCR) technology, while the levels of CA15-3 and CF-DNA were measured by appropriate laboratory methods, statistical analyzes were also carried out to assess the relationship between the studied molecular indicators and breast cancer, along with assessing their diagnostic efficiency using ROC curve analysis.<\/span> The results of the study showed<\/span> the<\/span> possibility of adopting<\/span> a number<\/span> of ncRNA molecules<\/span> The associated<\/span> molecular<\/span> indicators<\/span> are<\/span> promising<\/span> biomarkers<\/span> for breast cancer diagnosis, as well as their contribution to understanding the molecular mechanisms regulating the disease, enhancing the opportunities for developing more accurate diagnostic tools and paving the way for future therapeutic prospects based on Molecular Medicine.<\/span> The discussion Committee was chaired by Prof. Dr. Mahmoud Ismail Mohammed Hassan, and the membership of Prof. Dr. Mohammed Ibrahim Khalil, assistant professor Dr. Haitham Luqman, and under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Owais Muwaffaq Hamed Mohammed.<\/span> Our wishes<\/span> to the students and teachers of our college continued<\/span> success and success<\/span><\/p>\n
