class=\"YPkS7KbdpWfGdYKd3QB9\" data-src-align=\"79:139\">\u201cCharacterization of virulence factors in a typical non-mannitol fermenting Staphylococcus aureus strains isolated from clinical specimens\u201d<\/span> <span class=\"YPkS7KbdpWfGdYKd3QB9\" data-src-align=\"228:5\">Presented<\/span> <span class=\"YPkS7KbdpWfGdYKd3QB9\" data-src-align=\"238:65\">by the researcher Muwaffaq Saleh Hussein Aliwi, on Sunday, September 6, 2026.<\/span> <span class=\"YPkS7KbdpWfGdYKd3QB9\" data-src-align=\"312:334\">The aim of the study was to characterize the isolates of Staphylococcus aureus non-fermenting mannitol bacteria externally and molecularly, to study their relationship to the formation of biofilms and antibiotic resistance, as well as to reveal a number of genes associated with resistance and virulence factors, which contributes to demonstrating the clinical significance of these isolates and the possibility of their accurate diagnosis by conventional and molecular laboratory methods.<\/span> <span class=\"YPkS7KbdpWfGdYKd3QB9\" data-src-align=\"650:12\">The study included<\/span> <span class=\"YPkS7KbdpWfGdYKd3QB9\" data-src-align=\"663:3\">262<\/span> <span class=\"YPkS7KbdpWfGdYKd3QB9\" data-src-align=\"672:6\">clinical<\/span> <span class=\"YPkS7KbdpWfGdYKd3QB9\" data-src-align=\"667:4\">samples<\/span> <span class=\"YPkS7KbdpWfGdYKd3QB9\" data-src-align=\"679:5\">collected<\/span> <span class=\"YPkS7KbdpWfGdYKd3QB9\" data-src-align=\"688:176\">from Al-Salam Teaching Hospital in Mosul for the period from October 2025 to March 2026, as the results showed bacterial growth in 212 samples by 80.9%, compared to no growth in 50 samples by 19.1%.<\/span> <span class=\"YPkS7KbdpWfGdYKd3QB9\" data-src-align=\"873:7\">Among the samples<\/span> <span class=\"YPkS7KbdpWfGdYKd3QB9\" data-src-align=\"881:3\">with<\/span> <span class=\"YPkS7KbdpWfGdYKd3QB9\" data-src-align=\"891:8\">bacterial<\/span> <span class=\"YPkS7KbdpWfGdYKd3QB9\" data-src-align=\"885:5\">growth<\/span><span class=\"YPkS7KbdpWfGdYKd3QB9\" data-src-align=\"901:108\">, 55 isolates of Staphylococcus aureus were diagnosed, which were divided into 51 fermented mannitol isolates and 4 non-fermented mannitol isolates.<\/span> <span class=\"YPkS7KbdpWfGdYKd3QB9\" data-src-align=\"1017:28\">The study also included the molecular investigation<\/span> <span class=\"YPkS7KbdpWfGdYKd3QB9\" data-src-align=\"1049:141\">of a number of genes associated with resistance and virulence, including femA, Meca, ICAD, TST-1 and beta, in addition to studying a number of characteristics associated with the pathological behavior of isolates.<\/span> <span class=\"YPkS7KbdpWfGdYKd3QB9\" data-src-align=\"1200:7\">The study<\/span> <span class=\"YPkS7KbdpWfGdYKd3QB9\" data-src-align=\"1194:5\">showed<\/span> <span class=\"YPkS7KbdpWfGdYKd3QB9\" data-src-align=\"1208:5\">the importance<\/span> <span class=\"YPkS7KbdpWfGdYKd3QB9\" data-src-align=\"1214:5\">of combining<\/span> <span class=\"YPkS7KbdpWfGdYKd3QB9\" data-src-align=\"1224:24\">phenotypic and molecular diagnostics<\/span> <span class=\"YPkS7KbdpWfGdYKd3QB9\" data-src-align=\"1249:3\">when<\/span> <span class=\"YPkS7KbdpWfGdYKd3QB9\" data-src-align=\"1253:7\">dealing<\/span> <span class=\"YPkS7KbdpWfGdYKd3QB9\" data-src-align=\"1264:243\">with non-fermented Staphylococcus aureus mannitol isolates, not relying on the character of mannitol fermentation alone in the diagnosis, as well as the importance of studying antibiotic resistance, the composition of biofilms and virulence-related genes in determining the clinical characteristics of these isolates.<\/span> <span class=\"YPkS7KbdpWfGdYKd3QB9\" data-src-align=\"1511:207\">The discussion Committee was chaired by Dr. Mahmoud Zaki Suleiman Sultan, and the membership of assistant professor Dr. Ala Hussein Taha Mahmoud and teacher Dr. Esraa Mohammed Adel Sharif, and the membership and supervision of Professor Dr. Esraa Ghanem Hazem Mohammed.<\/span> <span class=\"YPkS7KbdpWfGdYKd3QB9\" data-src-align=\"1731:8\">This discussion<\/span> <span class=\"YPkS7KbdpWfGdYKd3QB9\" data-src-align=\"1722:4\">comes<\/span> <span class=\"YPkS7KbdpWfGdYKd3QB9\" data-src-align=\"1748:143\">within the framework of the scientific and research activity
