thesis<\/span>: <span class=\"YPkS7KbdpWfGdYKd3QB9\" data-src-align=\"115:98\">\u201cComparison of swabs, aspirate and biopsy samples for diagnosing bacterial soft tissue infections\u201d<\/span> <span class=\"YPkS7KbdpWfGdYKd3QB9\" data-src-align=\"223:17\">Which was presented<\/span> <span class=\"YPkS7KbdpWfGdYKd3QB9\" data-src-align=\"241:17\">by researcher Esraa Omar Humaidan.<\/span> <span class=\"YPkS7KbdpWfGdYKd3QB9\" data-src-align=\"267:7\">The study<\/span> <span class=\"YPkS7KbdpWfGdYKd3QB9\" data-src-align=\"262:4\">aimed<\/span> <span class=\"YPkS7KbdpWfGdYKd3QB9\" data-src-align=\"279:3\">at isolating<\/span> <span class=\"YPkS7KbdpWfGdYKd3QB9\" data-src-align=\"283:6\">and diagnosing<\/span> <span class=\"YPkS7KbdpWfGdYKd3QB9\" data-src-align=\"290:32\">a number of pathogenic bacterial species<\/span> <span class=\"YPkS7KbdpWfGdYKd3QB9\" data-src-align=\"323:8\">associated<\/span> <span class=\"YPkS7KbdpWfGdYKd3QB9\" data-src-align=\"348:6\">with soft<\/span> <span class=\"YPkS7KbdpWfGdYKd3QB9\" data-src-align=\"340:7\">tissue<\/span> <span class=\"YPkS7KbdpWfGdYKd3QB9\" data-src-align=\"332:7\">injuries<\/span><span class=\"YPkS7KbdpWfGdYKd3QB9\" data-src-align=\"360:4\">, in particular<\/span> <span class=\"YPkS7KbdpWfGdYKd3QB9\" data-src-align=\"365:7\">isolates<\/span> <span class=\"YPkS7KbdpWfGdYKd3QB9\" data-src-align=\"386:8\">with high<\/span> <span class=\"YPkS7KbdpWfGdYKd3QB9\" data-src-align=\"395:8\">antibiotic<\/span> <span class=\"YPkS7KbdpWfGdYKd3QB9\" data-src-align=\"377:8\">resistance<\/span>, <span class=\"YPkS7KbdpWfGdYKd3QB9\" data-src-align=\"422:239\">as well as studying their ability to produce protease enzyme and biofilm formation, molecular investigation of some virulence genes, besides recording bacterial isolates in the NCBI database, analyzing the evolutionary relationships of Aeromonas caviae bacteria and studying their components using GC-MS technology.<\/span> <span class=\"YPkS7KbdpWfGdYKd3QB9\" data-src-align=\"673:7\">The study<\/span> <span class=\"YPkS7KbdpWfGdYKd3QB9\" data-src-align=\"681:3\">was<\/span> <span class=\"YPkS7KbdpWfGdYKd3QB9\" data-src-align=\"665:7\">conducted<\/span> <span class=\"YPkS7KbdpWfGdYKd3QB9\" data-src-align=\"689:175\">on 210 clinical samples, 70 samples for each of swabs, puncture and tissue biopsies, collected from Al-Salam educational and Republican educational hospitals in Mosul for the period from October 1, 2025 to February 1, 2026.<\/span> <span class=\"YPkS7KbdpWfGdYKd3QB9\" data-src-align=\"875:7\">The results<\/span> <span class=\"YPkS7KbdpWfGdYKd3QB9\" data-src-align=\"868:6\">showed<\/span> <span class=\"YPkS7KbdpWfGdYKd3QB9\" data-src-align=\"883:30\">that 98 positive samples were obtained against<\/span> <span class=\"YPkS7KbdpWfGdYKd3QB9\" data-src-align=\"923:5\">112 negative<\/span> <span class=\"YPkS7KbdpWfGdYKd3QB9\" data-src-align=\"918:4\">samples<\/span><span class=\"YPkS7KbdpWfGdYKd3QB9\" data-src-align=\"930:113\">, and the highest percentage of positive samples was in smears with 50 samples, followed by puncture samples with 25 samples, then tissue biopsies with 23 samples.<\/span> <span class=\"YPkS7KbdpWfGdYKd3QB9\" data-src-align=\"1053:4\">The most prominent<\/span> <span class=\"YPkS7KbdpWfGdYKd3QB9\" data-src-align=\"1066:9\">bacterial<\/span> <span class=\"YPkS7KbdpWfGdYKd3QB9\" data-src-align=\"1058:7\">isolates<\/span> <span class=\"YPkS7KbdpWfGdYKd3QB9\" data-src-align=\"1076:8\">studied<\/span> <span class=\"YPkS7KbdpWfGdYKd3QB9\" data-src-align=\"1047:5\">included<\/span> <span class=\"YPkS7KbdpWfGdYKd3QB9\" data-src-align=\"1085:9\">Aeromonas<\/span> <span class=\"YPkS7KbdpWfGdYKd3QB9\" data-src-align=\"1095:6\">caviae<\/span><span class=\"YPkS7KbdpWfGdYKd3QB9\" data-src-align=\"1102:8\">, Proteus<\/span> <span class=\"YPkS7KbdpWfGdYKd3QB9\" data-src-align=\"1111:9\">mirabilis<\/span><span class=\"YPkS7KbdpWfGdYKd3QB9\" data-src-align=\"1121:13\">, enterococcus<\/span> <span class=\"YPkS7KbdpWfGdYKd3QB9\" data-src-align=\"1135:8\">faecalis<\/span> <span class=\"YPkS7KbdpWfGdYKd3QB9\" data-src-align=\"1144:150\">and enterococcus lactis, as they showed different patterns of antibiotic resistance, while Aeromonas caviae was sensitive to the antibiotic Imipenem only, with an inhibition diameter of 28 mm.<\/span> <span class=\"YPkS7KbdpWfGdYKd3QB9\" data-src-align=\"1307:7\">The study<\/span> <span class=\"YPkS7KbdpWfGdYKd3QB9\" data-src-align=\"1302:4\">also recorded<\/span> <span class=\"YPkS7KbdpWfGdYKd3QB9\" data-src-align=\"1315:4\">four<\/span> <span class=\"YPkS7KbdpWfGdYKd3QB9\" data-src-align=\"1320:5\">isolates<\/span> <span class=\"YPkS7KbdpWfGdYKd3QB9\" data-src-align=\"1335:152\">for the first time in the NCBI database, namely: Proteus mirabilis (PX828471), Enterococcus lactis (PX828491), Aeromonas caviae (PX828494), and enterococcus faecalis (PX828493).<\/span> <span class=\"YPkS7KbdpWfGdYKd3QB9\" data-src-align=\"1491:28\">The results of molecular analysis showed<\/span> <span class=\"YPkS7KbdpWfGdYKd3QB9\" data-src-align=\"1520:4\">the presence<\/span> <span class=\"YPkS7KbdpWfGdYKd3QB9\" data-src-align=\"1525:218\">of a number of virulence and resistance genes, Aeromonas caviae carried the AST, Walt, Teta and qnra genes, while Proteus mirabilis showed the presence of the mrpA gene, while isolates of Enterococcus faecalis and enterococcus lactis showed the presence of the agg and Wesp genes.<\/span> <span class=\"YPkS7KbdpWfGdYKd3QB9\" data-src-align=\"1753:5\">With<\/span> <span class=\"YPkS7KbdpWfGdYKd3QB9\" data-src-align=\"1759:247\">regard to the formation of biofilms, the results showed a difference between bacterial species, Aeromonas caviae and Proteus mirabilis were unable to form biofilms, while Enterococcus lactis showed a weak ability, while Enterococcus faecalis showed an average ability to form them.<\/span> <span class=\"YPkS7KbdpWfGdYKd3QB9\" data-src-align=\"2016:7\">The results<\/span> <span class=\"YPkS7KbdpWfGdYKd3QB9\" data-src-align=\"2011:4\">also demonstrated<\/span> <span class=\"YPkS7KbdpWfGdYKd3QB9\" data-src-align=\"2024:14\">the ability of Aeromonas<\/span> <span class=\"YPkS7KbdpWfGdYKd3QB9\" data-src-align=\"2039:6\">caviae<\/span> <span class=\"YPkS7KbdpWfGdYKd3QB9\" data-src-align=\"2050:5\">to produce<\/span> <span class=\"YPkS7KbdpWfGdYKd3QB9\" data-src-align=\"2062:9\">the protease<\/span> <span class=\"YPkS7KbdpWfGdYKd3QB9\" data-src-align=\"2056:5\">enzyme<\/span>. <span class=\"YPkS7KbdpWfGdYKd3QB9\" data-src-align=\"2076:323\">An evolutionary analysis using the MEGA 11 program showed a strong genetic affinity between Aeromonas caviae bacteria and the AC strain (PV225293.1), while the GC-MS analysis revealed the presence of 40 compounds in the studied isolation,most notably diethyl phthalate, pentadecanoic acid, 9, 12-octadecadienoic acid (Z, Z) and 9-octadecenoic acid and carbonic acid, reflecting their metabolic diversity.<\/span> <span class=\"YPkS7KbdpWfGdYKd3QB9\" data-src-align=\"2403:221\">The discussion
