September 9, 2026 the doctoral thesis tagged &#8220;preparation and diagnosis of a number of molten salts and their complexes with a number of transitional and non-transitional elements and their study in environmental applications&#8221;, submitted by researcher Israa Adnan said Al-shukrji from the branch of inorganic chemistry.<\/span> <span class=\"YPkS7KbdpWfGdYKd3QB9\" data-src-align=\"311:5\">The research<\/span> <span class=\"YPkS7KbdpWfGdYKd3QB9\" data-src-align=\"306:4\">involved<\/span> <span class=\"YPkS7KbdpWfGdYKd3QB9\" data-src-align=\"317:5\">the preparation<\/span> <span class=\"YPkS7KbdpWfGdYKd3QB9\" data-src-align=\"329:5\">of a new<\/span> <span class=\"YPkS7KbdpWfGdYKd3QB9\" data-src-align=\"323:5\">series<\/span> <span class=\"YPkS7KbdpWfGdYKd3QB9\" data-src-align=\"357:7\">of organic<\/span> <span class=\"YPkS7KbdpWfGdYKd3QB9\" data-src-align=\"344:12\">pyridinium<\/span> <span class=\"YPkS7KbdpWfGdYKd3QB9\" data-src-align=\"338:5\">salts<\/span> <span class=\"YPkS7KbdpWfGdYKd3QB9\" data-src-align=\"365:9\">based<\/span> <span class=\"YPkS7KbdpWfGdYKd3QB9\" data-src-align=\"379:334\">on alkylation reactions of pyridinium derivatives using various alkyl halides, as well as the preparation of complex salts through the reaction of prepared organic salts with chlorides of a number of transition chain metals, including manganese, iron, cobalt, nickel, copper, palladium binary, as well as extrinsic, with a molar ratio (1:2) of organic salt of pyridinium to metal chloride.<\/span> <span class=\"YPkS7KbdpWfGdYKd3QB9\" data-src-align=\"723:333\">The diagnosis of the prepared organic salts was carried out using a number of physical and spectroscopic techniques and methods, including nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy (1H-NMR and 13C-NMR), energy\u2013dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDX), mass spectrometry (GC), infrared spectroscopy (IR), ultraviolet-visible electronic spectra (UV-Vis), as well as molar electrical conductivity measurements.<\/span> <span class=\"YPkS7KbdpWfGdYKd3QB9\" data-src-align=\"1061:39\">The prepared complex salts were also diagnosed using<\/span> <span class=\"YPkS7KbdpWfGdYKd3QB9\" data-src-align=\"1114:5\">atomic<\/span> <span class=\"YPkS7KbdpWfGdYKd3QB9\" data-src-align=\"1105:8\">absorption<\/span> <span class=\"YPkS7KbdpWfGdYKd3QB9\" data-src-align=\"1101:3\">spectroscopy<\/span><span class=\"YPkS7KbdpWfGdYKd3QB9\" data-src-align=\"1121:134\">, infrared (IR), ultraviolet\u2013visible (UV-Vis) electronic spectra, magnetic measurements, and molar electrical conductivity.<\/span> <span class=\"YPkS7KbdpWfGdYKd3QB9\" data-src-align=\"1259:143\">The results of the molar electrical conductivity showed that the prepared organic salts and complex salts exhibit the behavior of a conductive electrolyte in the proportions of (1:1) and(2:1), respectively.<\/span> <span class=\"YPkS7KbdpWfGdYKd3QB9\" data-src-align=\"1407:225\">The results of magnetic measurements and ultraviolet\u2013visible electronic spectra also confirmed that all the prepared complex salts have a tetrahedral structure around the metal atom, except for the complex salts of binary palladium, which take the planar-square structure.<\/span> <span class=\"YPkS7KbdpWfGdYKd3QB9\" data-src-align=\"1636:29\">The third part of the study involved<\/span> <span class=\"YPkS7KbdpWfGdYKd3QB9\" data-src-align=\"1666:5\">loading<\/span> <span class=\"YPkS7KbdpWfGdYKd3QB9\" data-src-align=\"1672:180\">a number of prepared organic salts (E3-E1) and complex salts of binary palladium (E3Pd-E1Pd) onto activated carbon, studying them using elemental analysis (EDX) and electronic scanner (SEM).<\/span> <span class=\"YPkS7KbdpWfGdYKd3QB9\" data-src-align=\"1860:7\">The results<\/span> <span class=\"YPkS7KbdpWfGdYKd3QB9\" data-src-align=\"1853:6\">showed<\/span> <span class=\"YPkS7KbdpWfGdYKd3QB9\" data-src-align=\"1868:182\">that activated carbon, after being loaded with prepared organic and complex salts, has a high surface area and a large number of cracks and pores, which increases the rate of adsorption and carbon dioxide gas retention.<\/span> <span class=\"YPkS7KbdpWfGdYKd3QB9\" data-src-align=\"2064:232\">In the final part of the research, the efficiency of carbon dioxide sequestration was evaluated using a number of organic pyridinium salts and their complexes for binary Palladium after loading on Activated Carbon, in order to study the effect of the structure of the prepared compounds in improving the adsorption performance.<\/span> <span class=\"YPkS7KbdpWfGdYKd3QB9\" data-src-align=\"2304:7\">The results<\/span> <span class=\"YPkS7KbdpWfGdYKd3QB9\" data-src-align=\"2297:6\">showed<\/span> <span class=\"YPkS7KbdpWfGdYKd3QB9\" data-src-align=\"2321:6\">a clear<\/span> <span class=\"YPkS7KbdpWfGdYKd3QB9\" data-src-align=\"2312:8\">decrease<\/span> <span class=\"YPkS7KbdpWfGdYKd3QB9\" data-src-align=\"2336:121\">in the percentage of residual CO2 over time compared to unloaded activated carbon, which confirms the success of the loading process and its role in enhancing the efficiency of gas retention.<\/span> <span class=\"YPkS7KbdpWfGdYKd3QB9\" data-src-align=\"2468:4\">In general<\/span><span class=\"YPkS7KbdpWfGdYKd3QB9\" data-src-align=\"2479:7\">, the study<\/span> <span class=\"YPkS7KbdpWfGdYKd3QB9\" data-src-align=\"2474:4\">confirmed<\/span> <span class=\"YPkS7KbdpWfGdYKd3QB9\" data-src-align=\"2499:7\">that<\/span> <span class=\"YPkS7KbdpWfGdYKd3QB9\" data-src-align=\"2490:8\">the prepared compounds<\/span> <span class=\"YPkS7KbdpWfGdYKd3QB9\" data-src-align=\"2507:5\">possess<\/span> <span class=\"YPkS7KbdpWfGdYKd3QB9\" data-src-align=\"2526:5\">high<\/span> <span class=\"YPkS7KbdpWfGdYKd3QB9\" data-src-align=\"2519:6\">adsorption<\/span> <span class=\"YPkS7KbdpWfGdYKd3QB9\" data-src-align=\"2513:5\">efficiency<\/span> <span class=\"YPkS7KbdpWfGdYKd3QB9\" data-src-align=\"2532:215\">and promising application potential in carbon dioxide sequestration, which makes them suitable materials to contribute to reducing carbon emissions and supporting their application in gas purification technologies, in line with the trends of green chemistry and sustainable development.<\/span> <span class=\"YPkS7KbdpWfGdYKd3QB9\" data-src-align=\"2761:8\">The discussion<\/span> <span class=\"YPkS7KbdpWfGdYKd3QB9\"
