The Department of life sciences at the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Mosul held a scientific course entitled “From 16S rRNA gene to bacterial diagnosis: a Complete Practical Guide” (From 16s rRNA to Bacterial Identification: A Complete Practical Guide), for the period from October 11 to 15, 2026, in the Hall of Dr. Mahmoud Haj Qasim, with the participation of teachers and graduate students.<\/span> The course was attended<\/span> by Professor Dr. Israa Ghanem Hazem al-Samak and the teacher Dr. Huda Walid Hadi al-Hayali, and their lectures discussed the importance of the 16S rRNA gene in the molecular diagnosis of bacteria, polymerase chain reaction (PCR) technology, and DNA sequencing sequencing techniques.<\/span> The course also included practical applications<\/span> on<\/span> the database of the National<\/span> Center for Biotechnology<\/span> Information<\/span> (NCBI<\/span>), the use of MEGA 12 and finchtv programs for the analysis of genetic sequences and bacterial identification.<\/span> The course stressed<\/span> the importance<\/span> of employing<\/span> molecular and bioinformatics technologies<\/span> in<\/span> developing<\/span> the skills of researchers and enhancing the accuracy of bacterial diagnosis, and concluded by distributing certificates of participation to attendees.<\/span> Our wishes<\/span> to the course leaders and participants for continued success and continued scientific and academic giving.<\/span><\/p>\n
