In<\/span> a scientific<\/span> achievement<\/span> reflecting<\/span> the use of chemistry<\/span> in the service of medical and Biological Research<\/span>, a research team from the Faculty of science at the University of Mosul was able to prepare a new ligand from Schiff bases derived from triazole, and study its cytotoxic effect against lung, bladder and breast cancer cells, in a step aimed at exploring the vital potential of new chemical compounds in cancer-related research.<\/span> This achievement came<\/span> within<\/span> the framework of a scientific<\/span> research<\/span> entitled<\/span>: \u201cSynthesis and Structural Elucidation of Trinuclear Metal Complexes Derived from a Triazole-Based Schiff Base Ligand: Cytotoxic Evaluation of the Free Ligand\u201d<\/span> The research was carried out by Prof. Dr. Ammar Hussein Al-Sabawi, assistant professor Dr. Khansa Shaker Al-Naama from the Department of Chemistry at the Faculty of Science, and PhD student Iman Mowafaq Ramadan from the Department of medical physics at the University of Mosul.<\/span> The research<\/span> included<\/span> the preparation of lycand<\/span> and its use<\/span> in the preparation of a series of three-core metal complexes, studying their chemical and structural properties, as well as assessing the cytotoxicity of free lycand and conducting molecular docking studies to explore its interactions with protein targets associated with cancer.<\/span> The research was published<\/span> in the Journal of Molecular Structure of the global publishing house Elsevier, ranked within the first quarter (Q1) according to the research data, with a Citation Index (CiteScore) of 8.4 and an impact factor of 4.9.<\/span> The research was<\/span> published<\/span> with the Closed Access system<\/span> without<\/span> publishing<\/span> fees<\/span>, according<\/span> to the information provided.<\/span> This achievement is a qualitative addition to the scientific output of the Faculty of Science and the University of Mosul, and reflects the efforts of its researchers in supporting multidisciplinary scientific research and the development of chemical studies related to the medical and vital fields.<\/span> Congratulations<\/span> to the researchers and the Faculty of Science for this scientific achievement, with our wishes for further progress and excellence in the fields of scientific research.<\/span> Search link<\/span>: https:\/\/www.sciencedirect.com\/\u2026\/abs\/pii\/S0022286026024142<\/span> Government information and Communication Division<\/span><\/p>\n
