Under the supervision of the Dean of the College, Professor Dr. Manal Raafat Khalid, the Department of Hotel Studies, in cooperation with the Presidency of the University of Mosul \/ Department of Studies and Planning \/ Sustainable Development Unit, held a workshop entitled \u201cHotels as a Pillar of Sustainable Economic Development.\u201d\u00a0Assistant Lecturer Hiba Khalid Bakr delivered the workshop<\/span>\u00a0on Wednesday, 31 December 2025.<\/p>\n

The workshop aimed to highlight the role of hotels as a key contributor to sustainable economic development through the adoption of responsible hospitality practices that enhance resource-use efficiency, support the local economy, and encourage innovation in the hospitality sector, in line with the requirements of sustainable development.<\/p>\n

This workshop\u00a0aligns with the\u00a0Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), specifically\u00a0Goals 4 (Quality Education),\u00a08 (Decent Work and Economic Growth), and\u00a012 (Responsible Consumption and Production), underscoring<\/span>\u00a0the role of academic institutions in supporting sustainable development and serving the community.<\/p>\n
