The College of Tourism Sciences actively participated in the events of Sustainable Development Week, held under the patronage of the President of the University of Mosul, Professor Dr. Waheed Mahmoud Al-Ibrahimi, on Tuesday, April 28, 2026. The event was supervised and attended by the Dean of the College, Professor Dr. Manal Raafat Khalid, with the participation of the Assistant Dean for Scientific Affairs, Assistant Professor Dr. Zaid Mohammed Talal, along with the heads of academic departments and the college staff.<\/p>\n
The participation included the presentation of several projects related to sustainability in the tourism sector. Among the most prominent were an artificial waterfall project, the design of Ain Kibreet Resort, a sustainable tourist park, in addition to green hotel models, tourism e-platforms, and the recycling of wood to produce sustainable furniture, along with a variety of handmade products based on recycling.<\/p>\n
These projects align with several Sustainable Development Goals, including Goal 6 (Clean Water), Goal 7 (Clean Energy), Goal 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production), and Goal 13 (Climate Action).<\/p>\n
The college administration emphasized that this participation reflects its commitment to strengthening the practical aspect of education and linking learning outcomes with sustainability requirements in the tourism sector.<\/p>\n
