Under the patronage of the President of the University of Mosul, Professor Dr. Waheed Mahmoud Al-Ibrahimi, and under the supervision of the Dean of the College of Tourism Sciences, Professor Dr. Manal Raafat Khalid, the College of Tourism Sciences, in cooperation with the Regional Studies Center and the University of Mosul Presidency \/ Department of Studies and Planning \/ Sustainable Development Unit, organized a scientific seminar entitled “The Tourism Reality in Nineveh Governorate in a Changing Regional Environment: Opportunities and Challenges.” The seminar was held on Monday, 22 June 2026, at the Scientific and Literary Forum Hall.<\/p>\n
The seminar brought together a distinguished group of faculty members from the College of Tourism Sciences and aimed to highlight the rich tourism, archaeological, and cultural assets of Nineveh Governorate. It also addressed the challenges facing tourism development amid the current regional changes while exploring the opportunities available to advance this vital sector.<\/p>\n
In addition, the seminar emphasized the role of tourism in promoting economic and social development, strengthening cooperation between academic institutions and tourism-related stakeholders, and encouraging the exchange of expertise and ideas that contribute to the sustainable development of the tourism sector.<\/p>\n
