Master\u2019s Thesis Defense \u2013 College of Veterinary Medicine, University of Mosul<\/strong><\/p>\n

The College of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Mosul held a defense for the master\u2019s thesis titled:<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cInvestigation of Infection with Fine Filiform Larvae in Sheep Using Conventional and Molecular Techniques\u201d,<\/strong><\/p>\n

submitted by graduate student Hanin Uday Ghanem, specializing in Pathogenic Parasitology, on Sunday, August 24, 2025.<\/p>\n

The study diagnosed infections caused by fine filiform larvae in sheep using both conventional and molecular methods. Three staining techniques were employed to visualize the larvae, and their morphological and morphometric characteristics were examined. Based on these features, four genera of filarial worms were identified\u2014marking the first such study conducted in Iraq. Additionally, five species of filarial worms infecting sheep were diagnosed using molecular techniques, specifically polymerase chain reaction (PCR), and eight isolates were recorded from Nineveh Province, Iraq.<\/p>\n
