{"id":39556,"date":"2025-08-27T17:07:52","date_gmt":"2025-08-27T17:07:52","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/uomosul.edu.iq\/en\/veterinarymedicine\/?p=39556"},"modified":"2025-12-22T09:56:28","modified_gmt":"2025-12-22T09:56:28","slug":"a-masters-thesis-presented-by-raja-mohammed-saleh-titled-laboratory-diagnosis-of-fasciolosis-in-sheep","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/uomosul.edu.iq\/en\/veterinarymedicine\/2025\/08\/27\/a-masters-thesis-presented-by-raja-mohammed-saleh-titled-laboratory-diagnosis-of-fasciolosis-in-sheep\/","title":{"rendered":"A master&#8217;s thesis presented by Raja Mohammed Saleh, titled: \u201cLaboratory Diagnosis of Fasciolosis in Sheep.\u201d"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>The College of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Mosul held a defense for the master\u2019s thesis titled:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u201cLaboratory Diagnosis of Fasciolosis in Sheep.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The study was presented by graduate student Raja Mohammed Saleh, specializing in Veterinary Pathological Diagnostics, on Wednesday, August 27, 2025.<\/p>\n<p>The aim of the study was to diagnose Fasciola hepatica infection in sheep use:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Direct Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (ELISA) for antigen detection<\/li>\n<li>Fluke Finder technique<\/li>\n<li>And to compare these methods with various conventional fecal examinations.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Key findings of the study included:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The Fluke Finder technique can serve as an economical and practical alternative to traditional sedimentation methods, offering ease in identifying eggs microscopically.<\/li>\n<li>The Direct ELISA method demonstrated high sensitivity, making it especially suitable for large-scale sample screening.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>The thesis committee was composed of the following faculty members:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Prof. Basma Abdul-Fattah Mohammed \u2013 Chair (University of Mosul)<\/li>\n<li>Prof. Iman Daham Hadi \u2013 Member (University of Mosul)<\/li>\n<li>Assist. Prof. Salam Abdul Ismail \u2013 Member (University of Mosul)<\/li>\n<li>Prof. M.A.B. Ibrahim Ahmed \u2013 Member and Supervisor (University of Mosul)<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Following a confident and scientifically grounded defense, the thesis was approved by the committee.<\/p>\n<p>Congratulations to the researcher, the supervisor, the College of Veterinary Medicine, and the Department of Internal and Preventive Medicine on this academic achievement.
