The College of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Mosul discussed the master’s thesis titled:<\/strong><\/p>\n

“Investigation of Fasciola parasite in cattle in the city of Mosul”<\/strong><\/p>\n

This study was submitted by student Araz Ahmed Ahmed Shahin, specializing in Veterinary Parasitology, on Monday, September 1, 2025.<\/p>\n

The study aimed to investigate liver flukes, also known as Fasciola hepatica, in slaughtered cows and calves in the city of Mosul. These parasites were isolated and genetically classified, with new genes registered in the global gene bank (NCBI). The flukes were also stained and prepared as slides for research purposes and for use in laboratories to aid student learning.<\/p>\n

    After the student confidently and scientifically defended his thesis, and following the committee\u2019s discussion, the thesis was accepted.<\/p>\n

    Congratulations to the researcher, the supervisor, the college, and the Department of Microbiology on this scientific achievement. Wishing continued success to the discussion committee. This thesis defense aligns with the fourth goal of the Sustainable Development Goals: Quality Education.<\/p>\n
