The defense of a master’s thesis at the College of Veterinary Medicine, Department of Physiology, Biochemistry and Pharmacology, entitled “The Effect of Silymarin on the Physiological Traits of Male Quail Exposed to Heat Stress<\/strong>“, by the student Naba\u02be Fares Naif, supervised by Prof. Dr. Ashwaq Ahmed Hassan, took place on Tuesday, 2 December 2025.<\/p>\n

The examination committee consisted of the following members:<\/p>\n

    The study aimed to investigate the impact of heat stress on quail, recognizing it as one of the major challenges facing the poultry industry that leads to substantial economic losses. The results indicated that the use of silymarin, extracted from the milk thistle plant, improved physiological performance and provided a deeper understanding of the mechanisms by which silymarin contributes to the poultry sector.<\/p>\n

    After the student defended her thesis with scientific rigor and confidence and following the committee\u2019s discussion, the thesis was accepted. Congratulations to the researcher, the supervisor, the college, and the Department of Physiology, Biochemistry and Pharmacology on this scientific achievement, and best wishes to the examination committee. This defense contributes to the achievement of Sustainable Development Goal 4 (Quality Education).<\/p>\n
