The College of Veterinary Medicine, in cooperation with the Department of Studies and Planning \/ Sustainable Development Unit, organized a training course titled \u201cLaboratory Animal Handling Safety Course,\u201d which runs from April 7\u20139, 2026.<\/p>\n
The course aims to:<\/p>\n
Learn the principles of biosafety when dealing with laboratory animals.<\/p>\n
Acquire proper skills for safely and humanely handling and transporting laboratory animals.<\/p>\n
Prevent injuries and zoonotic diseases (those transmitted between animals and humans).<\/p>\n
Become familiar with personal protective equipment (PPE) and how to use it.<\/p>\n
Adhere to ethical guidelines and scientific standards in the use of animals for research and experiments.<\/p>\n
This course aligns with the achievement of Sustainable Development Goal 3 (Good Health and Well-being), Goal 4 (Quality Education), and Goal 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth).<\/p>\n
