The College of Veterinary Medicine \u2013 Guidance and Educational Counseling Division, in cooperation with the Department of Studies and Planning \/ Sustainable Development Unit, organized a workshop titled \u201cAwareness and Prevention of Suicide\u201d on Monday, April 6, 2026.<\/p>\n
The workshop was delivered by Dr. Amoosh Abdulqader Mahmoud from the College of Education, Department of Psychology (Head of the Guidance and Educational Counseling Division).<\/p>\n
The workshop aimed to:<\/p>\n
Introduce students to the concept of suicide and its risks.<\/p>\n
Highlight the factors that may lead to suicidal thoughts.<\/p>\n
Discuss ways to overcome such thoughts.<\/p>\n
Encourage seeking support by talking to others and consulting specialists to avoid falling into despair.<\/p>\n
This workshop is part of the College of Veterinary Medicine\u2019s efforts to contribute to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly Goal 3 (Good Health and Well-being) and Goal 4 (Quality Education).<\/p>\n
