Under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Waheed Mahmood Al\u2011Ibrahimi, President of the University of Mosul, the College of Veterinary Medicine \/ University of Mosul, in cooperation with the Department of Studies and Planning \/ Sustainable Development Unit, organized a scientific symposium titled \u201cHantavirus Disease\u201d on Monday, 29 June 2026, with the attendance of faculty members, researchers, students, and individuals interested in human and veterinary health.<\/p>\n
The symposium program included three scientific lectures addressing various aspects of Hantavirus disease, presented as follows:<\/p>\n
First Lecture:\u00a0 <\/strong><\/p>\n Prof. Dr. Dhiaa Mohammed Taher, titled \u201cHantavirus Disease: History and Global Epidemiology\u201d, in which he reviewed the emergence of the disease, key milestones in its spread, and major outbreaks recorded worldwide.<\/p>\n Second Lecture:\u00a0 <\/strong><\/p>\n Prof. Dr. Mohammed Ali Hamad, titled \u201cHantaviruses: Classification and Documented Strains\u201d, discussing the scientific classification of Hantaviruses, the most recognized strains, and their characteristics.<\/p>\n Third Lecture:\u00a0 <\/strong><\/p>\n Asst.
