The master\u2019s thesis titled: \u201cConventional and Molecular Diagnosis of Intestinal Protozoa in Dogs\u201d<\/strong> by the student Lujain Abdulghani Abdullah<\/strong>, under the supervision of Prof. Wasan Amjad Ahmed<\/strong>, was discussed on Sunday, 19 July 2026<\/strong> at the Department of Microbiology, College of Veterinary Medicine.<\/p>\n

    The study investigated intestinal protozoa in dog feces across different ages, breeds, and rearing conditions using conventional diagnostic methods and various staining techniques. A rapid immunochromatographic assay was also employed to diagnose selected protozoa. The identified species were further confirmed using molecular techniques, leading to the diagnosis of multiple protozoan species and the registration of 14 genetic isolates<\/strong> in the GenBank<\/strong> scientific database.<\/p>\n

    After the student confidently defended her thesis and addressed the committee\u2019s questions, the thesis was approved<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
