Master’s Thesis Defense<\/strong><\/p>\n

A Master’s thesis defense was held at the College of Veterinary Medicine, Department of Microbiology<\/strong>, for the thesis entitled:<\/p>\n

“Conventional and Molecular Diagnosis of Eimeria<\/em> spp. in Cattle and Buffalo”<\/strong><\/p>\n

The thesis was presented by Mr. Ahmed Abdulwahid Ibrahim<\/strong> under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Manal Hammadi Hassan<\/strong>, on Wednesday, July 22, 2026<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The examination committee consisted of:<\/p>\n

  4. Dr. Manal Hammadi Hassan<\/strong> (College of Veterinary Medicine, University of Mosul) \u2013 Member and Supervisor<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    The study aimed to identify Eimeria<\/em> species infecting cattle and buffaloes of different ages and sexes from various regions of Nineveh Province using conventional microscopic diagnostic methods. In addition, histopathological examination of cattle intestinal tissues was performed to identify the developmental stages of Eimeria<\/em>. Molecular diagnostic techniques were also applied to severely infected cattle samples to confirm the microscopic identification of Eimeria<\/em> species.<\/p>\n

    The study identified 12 species of the genus Eimeria<\/em><\/strong> in cattle and buffaloes through microscopic examination. Furthermore, four genetic isolates<\/strong> of the parasite were successfully registered in the GenBank<\/strong> international database, contributing to the advancement of specialized scientific research in this field.<\/p>\n

    Following the candidate’s scientific and confident defense of the thesis and a comprehensive discussion by the examination committee, the thesis was approved.<\/p>\n

    Congratulations to the researcher, the supervisor, the College of Veterinary Medicine, and the Department of Microbiology on this academic achievement. We also extend our best wishes to the examination committee for their valuable efforts.<\/p>\n
